Sun Belt's the last one now.

Big ten has two divisions, East and West.

With USC, ucla and them joining next year, my guess is they’ll follow suit.

Specifically this year, you can’t tell me Iowa is the second best team in the big ten….

It's definitely happening. Starting next year the B1G won't have divisions.

Why?

No more competition for the tallest midget in the circus in the division. Get the MACC teams using win%

I suspect that the MACC might not feature the 2 best teams if you go by win %. You might get the best team versus an OK team with a weak schedule assignment, or even the 2 teams with the weakest schedules. I’ve always been curious of how the schedules are determined. ???

New alignment in the MAC
Glad divisions are gone. Got so sick of fraud coaches claiming program success with division titles over the years when in fact their team was middle of the pack at best many of those years.

Should be interesting.

They should commit to having those games always scheduled on Saturdays.

Ahh, that's a benefit for sure. Something like that alone is enough divisions are gone could be good.

Wonder when Championship Game is gone next is announced...........

24-26 MAC opponents announced. Full schedule will be released later in February.

Western Michigan
2024
Away: Central Michigan, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Ball State
Home: Northern Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Akron, Kent State

2025
Away: Northern Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Akron, Miami
Home: Central Michigan, Toledo, Ohio, Ball State

2026
Away: Central Michigan, Toledo, Kent State, Ohio
Home: Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Miami

No Toledo next season is what sticks out to me at a glance.

Looking for more than a second, we avoid Miami, Ohio, and Toledo next season.

RE: New alignment in the MAC
You got to go 6-6 w/ that.

Stephens turning basketball around in 2 years, Taylor can do the same.

3-1 at home plus FCS is 4
2 road MAC wins

6-6

RE: New alignment in the MAC
I really like the new alignment, makes more sense.

The MAC championship should be decided by the best two teams in the entire conference, not the best two teams from each "division".

Like everyone said, imagine a CMU / WMU MAC title game.

Wonder if the MAC championship will ever go back to campus sites?

I don't think theres a way to do it that would please everyone all the time. Looks a little weird not to see Toledo on the '24 schedule

Yep, we earned it after the rough schedule this past season. Unless Akron, Kent and Buffalo turn it around quickly (in the portal age, anything can happen).

I agree with Bronco '14 here. With a lighter schedule and 2 P5s (instead of 3), anything less than bowl eligibility would be disappointing. Though a mostly brand new coaching staff outside of the HC is a wildcard too.

RE: New alignment in the MAC
Marshall game was originally scheduled for that 9/14 date. Strange that it hasn't been officially slotted anywhere else yet.

And then we were supposed to host Marshall on 9/6/25, but that disappeared (we host North Texas now).
