You, may be right. Calipari, does have leverage. But, I think the name Memphis has leverage as well. But, you're definitely right. Mike, is getting more and more leverage. UAB, is too. I sure would love to see UAB play some of the elite teams other than in the NCAA's. Thanks for the invite Smaug. I'll drop by.

FUT is not a threadkiller...he's making points and asking questions...the point of the whole thread is should uab be ranked...I don't think they are anymore deserving than the teams that have been mentioned, so I say hell no...the uab'ers disagree...fine...no prob...some of us are just asking wtf make uab so GD good...that's it!!!

For what it's worth, there is no good argument for uab being better than those teams...and vise-versa...it's just a debate from one (or two) uab doubter to the uab fans base...

I have to agree to a certain extent. I wouldn't say they should or shouldn't be in the top 25 beause they really are among a host of schools on the edge. Those schools can compete with the top 25, but they are not yet on the level past the 50/50 chance of winning those games. And I am speaking for this year only.

I really don't think we deserve a top 25 at this point. We're into the crunch part of the conference schedule. Beat UCF, UTEP and we might edge in if some of the high teens/low twenties take a loss. Beat Memphis at the Bart and we're in, assuming we don't screw the pooch and lose to one of the low RPI teams in the conference.

If we keep winning, the ranking takes care of itself. Beat Memphis in B'ham and we're in. Have a deep run in the C-USA Tournament, or beat Memphis and win it, and we're in. Lose a couple more, and we're not. It ain't rocket surgery.
