Yeah, probably too high for stAte. I'm coming to the game and it will be my first time to see them in person but watching a couple of games on TV I'd say they are fundamentally not sound.
I have a question. What's the parking situation? With low attendance are they letting people park on numbered lots or do you have to park in the ghetto and walk?

Not sure they have even had attendants at the gates for the first few games. Definitely was nobody manning the gates for the Ball State game. Probably not worth it with most attendees being season ticket holders who have parking passes. I would bet they will have attendants taking money at the ASU game. Probably could net a couple of thousand bucks on ASU fans and nonseason ticketholders. I tend to believe you will be allowed to park in the numbered lots, if you pay, since on a Friday night I doubt there will be a ton of regular students parking there. However, I have no inside knowledge and can't guarantee this is the case.

RE: asu/kenpom
Weird year for us. We maintained a few players from last years team, but most left. Recruiting was good coming in, but we were unable to sign a big this year, and its been a major problem. We just have zero inside presence, and are pretty much a drive and kick team. That's worked somewhat in our wins and a decent performance at Iowa, but Jackson State exploited it to no end Tuesday, just completely cut off the drive. At one point in the 2nd half we had one made FG from inside the 3 point line.
Defense was bad to start the year, but has improved. What killed us against Jackson State was the lack of hustle in rebounding situations. We were outrebounded 24-8 in the 2nd half.
We've taken steps to solve our deficiencies in recruiting, and guys like Freddy Hicks are still strong enough that they can win us games if their shots are falling, but there's only so much we can do until next year.

Well that win should help our kenpom rating.

In the end, all that matters is winning the tournament. If we are going to be a 15 or 16 seed, I'd probably rather be in the last 4 spots so we are in the play-in game. That gives us a winnable NCAA tournament game in primetime, on national TV, with no other NCAA games taking place at the same time. Don't see an OVC team being higher than a 15 seed unless we run the table in league play.

Unfortunately neither do I. But, we have beaten some decent midmorning that will help us in the end.

RE: asu/kenpom
People have asked me about UALR's former Razorbacks KK Robinson and Makhel Mitchell on Hogville after your win over A-State. I just said KK was was available for your game with them, and Mitchell was not . Feel free to correct.
Regardless I said I expect UALR would get better as the season progresses, but IMO will not be as good as A-State by season end. Your thoughts.
As far as the A-State team you played, they have been missing anywhere from three to five scholarship players every game since their preseason 112-77 win over UCA. My thinking was when they get everyone available they should more resemble the team that destroyed UCA and not the one everyone has been playing. I expect they will be a lot better team as the season progresses.

I wish you the best of luck, since we won't have to find out who is better at the end of the year or worry about that now, but KK should be back from a broken leg and Mitchell became eligible yesterday. So far do good against the AAC, beating Tulsa and then UTSA last night with Mitchell dressing out but not playing. We need to learn to win on the road, but you've seen us play at home.

Wish UALR the best of luck too, and hopefully both teams will get "all hands on deck", and hit their strides in conference play.
A-State should finally get the services of Transfer Forward LaQuill Hardnettt, and PG Terrance Ford Jr. soon. Both were considered likely starters and "critical for success" players going into the season, and their absence has been felt big-time. Getting both back should make them a lot better once they get back into the flow.

I know Louisville is not very good, but still a win on their home court looks pretty big to me.

Again I think A-State is gong to be a good team at some point this year, because all they have to do is get some players currently on the roster on the court and that has been day to day the last couple of games. Regardless they are getting better.
You should to pretty good if you progress "as is" and of course if you get both KK Robinson and Makhel Mitchell in the mix, maybe better than good.
At this level ,it is all about the finish, so hoping for a good finish for the Trojans.
