That was a clunky, herky jerky half and JMU still leads the crappy Buffalo team by 13. Byington presses a little and the Bulls couldn’t handle it. He has that in his back pocket if he needs to stave off a run in the 2nd half.

Buffalo is as advertised… awful.

MG3 will be my favorite player this year and possibly one of my top 5 favorite Dukes of all time even though he is a one year transfer. Great underdog that makes the right decision 99% of the time with the ball in his hands. He is the reason this years offense is so much better than last year. Whether he scores the ball or assists, it is a good outcome.

Key side note - he plays better with his fro. Gives him more old school vibe on the court and he can also claim he is 6’0” (with the hair). Actually is probably a 5’10” mighty mite.
I’m sure opposing coaches hate him for his consistent effectiveness on offense and his pest like qualities on defense.

Solid win and under control the whole time, but coach wasn’t happy postgame because he felt it was a lackluster effort. 15 points isn’t enough against that woeful Buffalo team. He jokingly blamed it on the Turkey tryptophan hangover.

Agree - radio suits him better. The video spots - come off as smirky and smug. On broadcast, he was very good and the old/blood - new kid banter played really well. I suspect over time, the camera presence will come too.

Overall, kind of awesome to see talent emerge in our broadcasting ranks too!

I remember last year tuning in to a baseball game I was thinking “who is this announcer? He’s pretty good.” I was really surprised when I realized it was Corey. I have never liked his sideline reports (though it also seems like they have technical snafus when he’s queued up) but I agree that I’d prefer him to Curt’s commentary. Would love to see him take the football primary role.

Kid does a good job....just want to smash the TV when we repeatedly see someone with a microphone and there is no sound for an interview...5 seconds....10...20..30...how on earth does this happen at all, yet we get it repeatedly?

Attendance for a weeknight game was decent. Student sections were full and only started trickling out with 5 minutes left and plenty of faculty and staff showed up for appreciation night.

Like to see us get to 5,500 as our minimum attendance but the gains this year have been good. Have a strong chance to increase average home attendance by 1,000 (last year was 4,305 a game). We talk about more money needed to pay coaches and 1,000 more GA seats sold per game is close to $200k in ticket revenue.

Really wish more club seats will fill out down low. So annoying to see empty seats when I know the student sections are 100% full.

It's so annoying when the club seats go unfilled. The seat are sold. If people can't go, why don't they just sell them on the secondary market? I'd love to go and pay for them for any Saturday this year, but there are few if any available on the lower bowl the whole year.

how do you know they are unfilled? they could be, you know, in da club.

at the Radford game, you could see tons of people inside they. if anything, it's unfortunate that is the view on tV all the time. Becuase you see the "empty" club seats, that aren't really all empty. people are just up and inside

we got to the game at halftime last night and there was maybe 5 people loafing around schmoozing so I don't think it was for people just not in their purchased seats. I just think it was a Wednesday night game and that's typically tough to draw season ticket holders. Even we almost said no and went home after our early evening conflict.
