Last meeting: 2022 when FAU’s win got them to 5-7 and ultimately cost Rice the honor of qualifying for Bowl Eligibility the normal way. The same could happen this year… but Rice at home in November is historically pretty ok.

Rice is 15th in APR nationally and would still be in pretty ok shape for a bowl bid even if we lost OWL BOWL FIVE

But we’re going to try to win anyway because we found out for the first time this year that winning conference games by 21+ is pretty ok fun.

Prediction: Rice 30, FAU 9

My father in law is an alumnus of FAU and a good guy, but I’ve gotta pull for Rice here. I live just outside of Houston and it’s also a TX vs FL thing. And btw, Boca Chica is also a better launch site than Cape Canaveral.

Also trying to keep track of the 6-win teams… my best estimate has Rice with a magic number of 9 more “18 other games” to qualify with just a 5 win regular season.

Of course with the Owl Bowl on the line we are not score board *watching*
