Don't expect a big crowd tonight. SMU usually doesn't draw big crowds and UNT fans are put out with our coach not fixing our defensive issues. Plus, it's a Friday game during Texas High School payoffs. If 18K show up for this game, I'll be shocked.

UNT defense is absolute ass, tbh.

The North Texas defense has looked better tonight. Maybe because SMU is insisting on throwing the ball. Not sure. SMU's defense is no joke. I can see why they are 1st in the AAC. SMU has a lot of depth. That has me concerned about how this plays out as we go late into the game.

UTSA (if they make the championship game) is now the only team left that can take the AAC Texas Traveling Trophy from SMU’s cold hands before they try to steal off with it to the ACC.

That was definitely an interesting second half given UNT’s reputation for being a good second half team. I think our defense started off slow with some key injuries and was very impressed with the half time changes. We need to do all we can to hold on your DC.

I suppose that’s it for our series with UNT unless a new series is signed - which I can totally see.

I don't know if our DC is a good coach, but he's certainly stupid, and needs to go. He allowed UNT to go into this season without the personal needed to run his defense. That's just dumb, and I have no need for a coach that can't evaluate the talent and get what we need. The portal was there for him. He chose not to hit it. UNT should have gone out and bought a new defense like SMU did.

As for our series, I doubt UNT would agree to renew it. SMU wanted out and got their ticket to the ACC. UNT has plenty of regional conference games already to help drive attendance... if we can ever put together a respectable team. If Morris is smart, which I'm beginning to question, he will look to add strength-of-schedule type OOC games that will provide ESPN with more compelling broadcast content. Lets face it, if our series were to continue, it would be relegated to the ACC Network and ESPN+. The math has changed, and continuing the series with SMU just doesn't seem to add up anymore.
