There were glimpses of a good team but overall it was probably a below average performance. 12 second half points for Fisher, including 9 early in the 3rd quarter. 15 4th quarter points for Owens-Barnett and Ennis, who closed the door. 6 total assists for the game is a kind of shocking stat.
6 assists vs. 16 turnovers. Not a good stat line. DJ played 28 minutes with zero assists? Only 4 shots from our post players (Hayes, Sussy, Samb). Definitely a work in progress.
4 minutes. 2 rebounds, no shots attempted, 1 foul.

Yeah, Ngulefac playing so sparingly, especially when Samb got 16 minutes, is notable. I thought Hayes was by far the best of the posts. But Ngulefac should have been able to eat inside against this team. I'm guessing that Edmonds was worried what ACU could do to her defensively.
Another note: Bokunewicz looked iffy again defensively. I'm not sure she has the lateral quickness to stay in front of drivers, so when she's on an island against somebody, we're in trouble. Something to keep an eye on as she gets more and more healthy.

Coming off two major knee surgeries isn’t easy. Maybe we can give her some time to get confident again with her health? Paige Bueckers only was 3 of 9 in her first game back from her second injury. I wonder if UConn fans are calling for her to be benched. We have the luxury with Gooden not to have to rush Maya. I’m sure she will be fine.

Maya's playing time has nothing to do with Gooden. Maya is Klaczek's backup, and because of her struggles on defense, may very well be behind Ennis, as well.

To be clear, I'm not advocating for her getting fewer minutes. We desperately need her shooting to space the floor. Just making an observation that against quicker guards, we're going to need to have our rotations nailed down.

And
I was lucky enough to see Air Supply in concert in this gym.
That's the win that you love.

Saab still look out of place. She may have improved some but a wasted scholarship.
