I hope this isn't a case of too little, too late, but I think a half season of frustration is going to boil over and the offense explodes.

Akron isn't great, but they have lost 2 straight in OT. The loss to Indiana was in 4 OT, and yes I know Indiana is terrible.

I think we do beat them pretty good this year. I think you’ll see bendetto make some corrections and offense looked well like an offense last game. That will carry into this week and will finally get the ball rolling in the right direction. There is some talent on this team, just need to use it.

Big W this week with great momentum into homecoming we’re I think we pull the upset there. I’m sure I’m one of the few but I see this team going on a nice little run and making the season a respectable one.

Jalen Johnson may have broke his nose on his td catch

It was their backup QB who destroyed us last year. Now sounds like he will be the starter if DJ Irons is out with injury.

My expectations for this team are low until they give me something to hope for. Akron passes for over 300 yards. We score less than they do.

Don't like moral victories, but we did take the Turds to the final minute. Coaching and playing calling is what cost the SIU and Tulsa games.

Rocky has a decent game against Toledo, as did Brown. Let's see if the staff lets them play and doesn't make bonehead play calls.....like letting the play clock run down in the 4th quarter when you're behind. Like runs up the middle on 3rd and long in the 4th quarter.

I have a gut feeling we are ready to go on a little run of victories. The biggest challenge will be Ohio, but we grab that victory we have an opportunity to stack a few victories. The football gods have been tough on the team and the fan base, I think we are due and definitely ready for some positive mojo.

My heart always wants a win, but my brain , whats left of it, is telling me the Toledo “almost win” was the dead cat bounce, and we’ll fall to Akron by a hair, 27 24.

If we beat Ohio you can book a bowl game.

The next two weeks are going to make or break whether there is anything left for NIU football to salvage this season. NIU is facing the two best defenses in the MAC with Ohio ranked #3 in FBS and Akron at #27.

With the exception of the Kentucky game every other game Akron has played has been decided by three points or less. NIU will struggle to score like usual and it will be yet another close game. Seems like a coin flip on who wins this one.

Akron has played some God awful offenses. Outside of Kentucky who is only 65th and who rolled them by 32, temple is 90th, Indiana 107 and buff 108…then FCS Morgan state who is averaging 13ppg.
