A good offense, a poor defense, a new coaching staff and a ton of new players. The team has improved every week outside of the Louisiana crap show. There is a still a lot to clean up, that I don’t think can be cleaned up with what we currently have, but I’m generally happy with where we are at. I was really nervous about the Dilfer hire, but I think it’s going to work out.

Congrats to UAB they won the game and came ready to play.

USF is a work in progress we are 3-3 and I said pre season winning 4 to 6 was most likely best case scenario.

Golesh needs to recruit and bring in more talent specially in the skills positions. So far he is doing that with the commits so far.

Let’s see how they bounce back next week

We've been steadily improving the past couple weeks leading up to this game. I expected it all to come together at some point this season, but not this soon, and not against a team like USF.

Also, shout out to USF for the away fans. That was probably the most away fans I've seen since moving to Protective. Don't know if y'all have a big alumni base in Birmingham, or just have folks willing to travel, but either way, I saw a decent number of USF fans.

Congrats UAB! I figured UAB was going to be one of the strongest programs out of the new 6... and this conference needs strong programs.

Today we fell on our face, but Golesh is giving me what I hoped for... improvement. Two FBS wins so far is as much as we've had in the previous 3 seasons. I still think we get to 6, but it might be close. Hopefully this beatdown gets us fired up for FAU next week.

USF, some of yall's fans on twitter are obnoxious and delusional.

It made for a good laugh as we had 35 points and 400 yards at halftime.

GG, won't let a few idiots ruin a perception of the entire fanbase. The ones nearby me in the stands seemed okay.

Most of USF Twitter love to talk trash before games, they are for the most part good people and really aren’t being serious in what they say to try to rile up opposing fan bases, which by the way dish it out themselves. Anyways many of those same Twitter fans donated over $91 each the final score of the game to the Children’s Organization that UAB designated the game for.

Good for them, and many thanks. Children's Harbor provides for very ill children and families who don't have the financial advantages that some others do. They do great work, and the UAB Athletics support for them is something that we're very proud of. It's a wonderful cause, and the interaction with the players who wear a child's last name on their jersey makes the kids and their families (and our players) happy. All the families get the framed jersey with their name on it.

It's a helluva good cause.

BTW, at his presser this morning, Trent Dilfer talked about the USF fans stepping up and doing this. While this was UAB's 7th Children's Harbor game, a tradition that began under Coach Bill Clark, Dilfer is very emotionally invested in it. His family lost a son to heart disease at age five after a good bit of hospital time, so this cause is very close to his heart. So please accept thanks from Coach Dilfer as well to everyone who donated. Well done.

I think the coaches and staff are just starting to click and really learn the team and each other. Saw signs of improvement the last 2 weeks, but against much better teams than the first 3 weeks, so still lost games.

If they keep improving, we may get to 5 or 6 wins this year. After the first 3 games, I would have thought that was a pipe dream.

Like the old saying goes, usually not as bad as your worst loss, or as good as your best win.
