I don't know if they will have them all for that game or not. Usually there is some sort of popcorn or pub mix and they have free pop machines as well. Only been in there a few times. There are a bunch of pay food options as well.

My recollection as well; free popcorn and soda. There are some decent food options for purchase and alcohol of course.

We've been there with another couple at least twice and my complaint was the pre-game music. It was so loud we couldn't even have a conversation at a four top table a half hour before the game. I'm fine with all that to fire up the crowd right before player introductions and tip-off. Maybe this kind of audio production is ubiquitous these days but somehow I can't imagine it's part of the experience at Kansas, UNC or Duke.

I always toe tap basketball season in October when football season is in full swing. That said, Coach Miller's presser...

Anyone think this team can make the NCAA tournament this year? I am guessing 20 wins is going get this group close assuming 8 of those are conference wins.

What it is this board’s expectations coming into the season.

Ask me for a more informed opinion when the waiver situation is resolved.

If at least one Waiver is granted I think they'll be a tournament team. Margin for error shrinks dramatically if they don't. They'll be very dependent on a healthy Vik and the wings being good enough that they can play small a good amount.

Biggest question is PG. If DayDay/Jizzle can develop quickly the ceiling is pretty high.

Healthy Vik is the key to this season. We saw what happened when he wasn’t available.

Considering the last one that I can even think of was the Mauk situation, I don't know that I'd really go by past vibes. It's a crap shoot what the NCAA will decide, but the Tez Walker stuff shows that the second something is legally challenged they'll wilt like a tulip in Texas.

How many waivers are still unresolved? It seems odd that this has been in limbo for months and we're now about a month from the season starting. Of course, I say this and we'll probably hear something next week.

True. I interpreted "major eligibility battle" as loosely "major player UC was hoping to get that had to get approved by the NCAA", instead of "battle with the NCAA itself".

The NCAA weren't even looking at basketball waivers until October 1st...my guess is we will hear something in the next week or two at the latest.

Here's hoping at least one of the two is eligible. There are other important newcomers to the team. Long time Bearcat fans know this will be a gauntlet much like the Big East. But there needs to be reason for hope this campaign in terms of performance on the court and either or both of those bigs could change this team's DNA around the basket.

The way the NCAA caved on the Tez Walker situation, whether they should have nor not, they don't really have a leg to stand on in just about any scenario to keep someone out.

As far as the NCAA tournament is concerned, UC could make it. But as with every other team, we'll only go as far as our guards take us.

I hadn't heard anything about this. Dunno if this was one of those "double secret probation" things...

Would be curious to know if the two waiting on waivers played or not. If not and the game was still that close then that is very encouraging for what it’s worth.
