Soft Spot for App State
So I’ve always had a soft spot for App State. My dad is an LSU alumni and mom mom was a college athlete at USL, but growing up my dad had season tickets to LSU, there was very few home games we missed. Now I hate LSU so much I decided to get my masters at Arkansas.

It was by no means my first college game I watched in person but it is the first game I was old enough to remember who the two teams were and understand what was going on. That was the 2005 LSU vs App State game… so technically I watch App state play many years before I even watched my first UL game.

There is a way UL and App State play this year. For the championship. Hope you can make it.
I was at that 2005 game with wife and two sons. As i recall, the governor moved the game to a 10:00 kickoff due to the hurricane. On the way back, the only folks in the New Orleans airport were the US Army and App fans.

The hurricane game was 2008. In 2005, we went down and lost 24-0, but played well and showed we were going to be a tough out in the I-AA playoffs. And you know the rest.

I think it was 14-0 going into the 4th quarter but I might be wrong on that one.
