I voted for South Dakota State, not because I want to add them but because they were tied for last with Charlotte in votes, and I figured we needed a clear last place in this poll.

RE: If the Sunbelt Added Two Members Who Would it be?
I picked ECU and WKU for the following reasons.
Those are the two I most want that also work with our East-West positioning. I also think they are both realistic. USF and Memphis see the SBC as below them so they aren't coming. WKU would be here as soon as their name was called. ECU is finding our the AAC ain't all its cracked up to be. I think once the new media deal drops in value, they would jump as long as ESPN allows it.

Sooo, the answer to Geography Much would be: NO.
In your World it’s add 2 East Teams, and the Hell with the other half of the conference….

I see you have strong feelings about this. I’m not here to argue with you… who’d you vote for and why?
My opinion is just that since there’s no slam dunk add for the West, I’d pick USF over UTSA. I see UTSA as equally an outlier, and without an OCS and without Florida recruiting. (Concede TX recruiting is great too.)
UAB, Tulane, LaTech all triple down in states. I’d be cool with all of them, but 3 in a state seems like a lot if we have other choices.
Memphis would be cool, but I just don’t think they’re interested.

THIS!
Besides I don't want Memphis or USF in our Conference, and you can add UAB to that list. JMHO.

I'd vote for UNCC because there is not a "None" option listed, and UNCC is the closest option to "Do Nothing" that is on this list.

. . . Strong feelings? nnaaaw. Largely I see this thread as something akin to a circle jerk. IMO, I don’t think we’re adding anyone in the near future.
Perhaps after the mess with the PAC shakes out.
But let me ask you a question . . . How would you feel if every time you played a conference foe, it entailed a Road Trip for your fans? And I don’t mean a minor road trip, but a major endeavor involving the crossing of State lines.
And since you don’t Geography much, I’d point out that this is a BIG Damn state.

MTSU and WKU would be *my* choice if we had to add. However I am pleased with how our 14 team setup is going and think we should stay this way until all the newbies have completed at least 5 seasons in the SBC unless some major benefits propose themselves.
Also I refuse to actually vote because UT-Arlington starting FB and rejoining paired with FGCU starting football and joining were not options. *I'm only being a wee, wee bit serious*

We should stay at 14 we should not add anyone. I feel like if conference realignment happens, that the private schools in the American will stick together and private schools do not fit the Sunbelt profile in all of this. More or less if the Sunbelt does get raided who are the best candidates for the East West divisions of the Sunbelt?
If the American does raid the Sunbelt, WKU and LaTech would be schools people would want out of CUSA.
If for some reason say all the Private schools decided to create there own league like the Big East then ECU and UTSA or Memphis. If say Memphis and USF or any combination get picked to go to a different conference, and the Sunbelt has the upper hand then ECU and UTSA should get the nod!
USF wouldn’t be a bad add in the West, just change regions instead of East and West, just change it to North and South

They are NOT a “Like” Institution, and therefore would not be a good fit.
I don't want to hear that, let's just set the record straight, what's your admitting is that you think college presidents don't like to rub shoulders with Christians, I'll say it. The Falwells are out of power now, and we're a football conference for Pete's sake, not setting up the next PAC 12 or ACC.
We sound like those AAC elites when making the claim they are not a "like" institution.
Last I checked, they're a pretty good football program, and would have instant heel credibility on multiple factors (additional eye balls and buts in seats).
On merit, they belong in the conversation. To not even include them in a poll like this is insane.
Liberty has a national academic ranking in the US News & World Report (#394-435), which is very close to other FBS schools like South Alabama, Eastern Michigan, Akron, WKU, and ULM.
This idea that Liberty is a school with cooties is ridiculous. When the Falwell's were in control, I understood the stigma and the baggage. That's undeniable. But Liberty has worked pretty hard to get away from all of that and the Falwell's since firing Falwell Jr. That family is no longer in control Liberty. Their president now is the previous president of Charleston Southern.
Liberty's student code and foundational views are no different from BYU... and everyone in the Big 12 doesn't seem phased. BYU churns out successful graduates left and right.

RE: If the Sunbelt Added Two Members Who Would it be?
My first vote goes to Eastern Carolina. Their rivalries with Sun Belt schools are great, many of their fans are as passionate as we are, and the geography makes sense.
If Texas State is going to stick around long-term, adding UTSA would be amazing. Again, it’s a rivalry, and UTSA has a sizable following. If the Bobcats are staying for a long time, it would be nice to give them an in-conference rival.
If there’s a chance that Texas State is going to move, then my second vote is for WKU instead of UTSA. Don’t they have the most sports championships over the last decade in CUSA? Something like that. They’re competitive.
Memphis is nice to think about (especially for Arkansas State), but I don’t find them to be a realistic option. I feel the same about UAB, even though that’d be great for Troy and South Alabama.

1) UTSA
2) Memphis
3)ECU
Honorable mention:
I’ve always liked Ohio
Not ready but geographically could be worth it one day
1) Missouri State
2) UWF (don’t like that there D2 but Damn there a great geographic fit)
Seriously why do people keep bringing up Mo St and a school no one had even heard about before someone made a joke about possibilities for the future?
And, I could be wrong, but I thought all the old heads would rather fold up shop than let La Tech back in the league...
Mo State was a candidate at one time. It was between Coastal, EKU and Mo State after JMU turned down the invitation years ago.

Not trying to be that guy, but where would Texas State go, please don't say CUSA? They should know from Southern Miss, Marshall, and ODU, that the leadership and vision for that conference is a Joke.
I do think Texas State needs another member closer for them and while I don't like UTSA nor do I think they are a fit for the SunBlet, they are the clear choice.
makes me sick to say that.

I hope we don't even think about expansion unless there's a crisis, like the Big 12 picks up Texas St. or something. But seriously, look at the conferences that aren't insane: the SEC, the MAC and us. They're regional, they have divisions, and no one's flying to Califorinia. Let's not fix what ain't broke.
