With how little offense they had against West Virginia, this should be pretty cut and dry business for the Cougars.

The key word is should. I expect a close game regardless.

With the TT starting QB out, it will be up to the backup to make a game of it....

Tyler Shough injury: Texas Tech starting QB suffered fractured fibula in loss to West Virginia, per reports

The current Houston offense has been pretty darn pathetic. This one could be quite the pillow fight.

Unfortunately in recent years, UH have made backup QBs look like Heisman Trophy candidates.

Actually the defense has been doing it's part this year. Even special teams are special again (ok ignore our FG kicker missing so many). It's mostly all on the offense this year. We haven't been filling recruiting needs on the OL, they can't move anyone out of the way. Our RB situation looked pretty hopeless until Parker Jenkins gave us a glimmer of hope.

Donovan Smith is a mediocre passer unless he heaves it and lets the WR run under it, but his accuracy is one reason our overrated WR corp drops a lot of passes, even though it hits them in the hands, or throws the receivers out of bounds... not to mention his number of INTs (and almost INTs this past game). And when he decides to run, he just looks soooo s l o w.

I thought replacing the OC this season would show some results, but the offense looks lost. Blame the coaching, blame the players attitudes/ability, I don't care, that's our problem right there.

Holgerson doesn’t recruit much at all, I personally think he doesn’t like to recruit, either way kick his ass out

You too, eh? Wish one of you guys were on our schedule. Baylor is probably our last chance at a win this season.

I thought Houston’s defense performed well vs TCU… If our defense makes key stops and our QB shows up I think we could pull an upset vs TT.

with clayton tune running our offense smoothly it was always our defense that was suspect.

now our defense is serviceable but it is our offense that is dragging. this is what happens when we keep plugging in 1 year band-aids instead of building up recruits.

May have to wait until New Year’s Day 2024. That buyout is currently outrageous. Once 2024 hits, it’s a different story.

This comment literally makes no sense because in this world of NIL and transfer portal, recruits are only as loyal as long as booster checkbooks are fat.

Does it sting seeing the Coogs doing well and Donovan Smith actually looking really good on the field today? Because not one single post commenting on how good they look!

GO COOGS!!!!

Lol

That’s a fair point. The offense has looked great today. However, it looks like we’re gonna be in another shootout with the Techies.

He's been doing that before the nil deal.

And yes...this game stings. I take everything back?

CDH "Coogs It". UH must make a coaching change after this season.

If UT is undefeated when they come to UH they will be playing before a home crowd as UH fans will sell their tickets. Just like they did the last time the Horns came to Houston.

Something has to change. He's had 5 years and now ask for 3 more before he's ready. He's a good oc and coach but somehow his teams don't respond. As much as I hate it I realize we need a coaching change. I love his intensity and play calling for the most part but it's time for a change.

What is DH now, something like 27 - 23 against FBS teams at Houston?

He somehow has had a prominent HC job for more than 12 years now, despite winning, really sharing iirc, exactly one conference title in all that time, and it came in 2011.
