Don't think FIU takes this into account. Back in 2011, our largest homecrowd of 22K was for homecoming against Duke.

I am very curious to see how our Liberty faithful turn out for this one. We have a very large alumni base in South & Central Florida. Thankfully the game was moved to a more convenient time on Saturday.

I never foresaw this game possibly being the CUSA game of the week.

The last road homecoming game Liberty played was last year against Arkansas. Wonder if FIU took that into consideration. Hopefully there will be a larger home crowd than showed up at Buffalo.

Liberty, along with WKU, appear to be the top early C-USA teams. Tough hime
game for my Panthers.

FIU had no choice with all of October being weekday games.

FIU had no choice with all of October being weekday games.

Sam Houston moved ours to November against Kennesaw St due to the Oct midweek games.

MT's homecoming is also this weekend

If we schedule an easy game for homecoming we're going to have to play Thomas Jefferson High School from El Paso Texas, my old alma mater. They're like the Miners they suck at football most years, heck, every year. But, I still think Utep can take them to the woodshed...but just barely.

Liberty’s homecoming is Nov 3-4 but it appears FIU’s only home game in November is on the 25th against WKU. Totally understand why they would stay away from Thanksgiving week.

Out of curiosity does Chadwell/Liberty run his Triple Option offense or did he move away from it? Only ask because it's my favorite offense so trying to watch teams that run it to get some ideas, there's chance I'll be coaching in HS next year (fingers crossed).

Chadwell brought all of his offensive coaches to implement his system, albeit, they are implementing segments on a weekly basis. Week one largely saw the offense revolve around the QB running the ball. In week two they ran the ball 51 times, averaged 7 yards per carry in the second half. The RBs combined for over 200 yards rushing. In the third game the QB accounted for 6 total TDs (5 passing). One pass went 60 yards in the air before hitting the receiver in stride. Three receivers were at the 100 yard per game mark (104, 104 and 99 yards respectively). Not sure what to expect next week. A couple running backs are banged up. The defense is very inexperienced but has ten turnovers in the first three games. Good luck on your coaching prospects.

Offense isn't fully implemented yet so it's hard to say what it will ultimately look like but so far we've only used traditional option plays probably less than 10 times each game but those concepts are still there. Defenses have been doing everything they can to keep us from running outside the tackles so they've mostly been using more traditional run plays inside the tackles. At least thats what it looks like to the untrained eye, they could be triple option plays and the QB is just choosing to hand the ball off.

I've heard it's a pretty complicated offense to teach so im not sure how much can or should be implemented at the HS level but it certainly speaks for itself, he's had a lot of success everywhere he's gone with it.

FIU seems to be the best team so far this year that LU will have faced. The 20+ points line favoring the Flames is bulletin board material for the Panthers. I watched a pre-season critique about the Flames claiming that Chadwell was riding the coattails of McCall at Coastal with his FBS success. So far, the opposite may be true. Flame fans have the right to be excited with Salter's QB play. And, he is going to have a stinker of a game at some point as most all young QBs have. The benefit of having the offensive coaches joining LU from Coastal seems to be paying huge dividends.

LU 28 FIU 24. I believe this will be a close game with a narrow LU win, not a 21 point blowout.
