…and Jay Norvell was there last year too.

SunBelt/AAC forums down? Seems like quite a few non-CUSA fans have their…valuable opinions…to share these days. Lol

Well, are you not in agreement that Jay Norvel has improved CSU and that Sam Houston doesn't have an offense that can score points? It's not meant as a shot, and no other Sam Houston fan has taken it as a shot. It is what it is.

I also have a hard time understanding why the offensive issues have persisted for two seasons now in an era of the transfer portal with an experienced coach like Keeler, a guy who once had Joe Flacco and a pretty high flying offense in FCS. Or the guy who won the Spring FCS National Championship in 2021.

What happened?

Besides playing Colorado close what has Norvel accomplished at CSU? They sucked last year and had one game this year where they played their in-state rival closely.

RE: 2023 CUSA "Lines in the Sand" Pick 'Em - Week 4
I'm stunned it is week 4 already, a few teams this will be game 5. OK here we go.
.
WKU @ Troy -3.5 11:00am CT - hoping for a little revenge from last fall but expected a closer score with Ohio State but the Buckeyes shifted to a new level. I feel the Toppers pull this one out but a Trojan win would not surprise. WKU 38 Troy 29

La Tech @ Nebraska -20.0 2:30pm CT - I just can't see the Bulldogs winning in Lincoln despite Nebraska being average so far and La Tech better than I expected. Nebraska 35 La Tech 20

Eastern Michigan @ Jax St -6.0 4:00pm CT - The Eagle seem to have been abysmal for a long time but 2-1 so far, only loss to Minnesota, this one is in Jacksonville so give me the Gamecocks and the home turf. Jax State 31 Eastern Illinois 21

Liberty -10.5 @ FIU 5:50pm CT - As the pundits would say Liberty has played "nobody", not a fan of that cliche. FIU has been the surprise of CUSA so far but look for the Flames to move to 4-0 despite playing on the road. Liberty 42 FIU 33

Sam Houston @ Houston -12.5 6:00pm CT - Houston is now one of the big boys moving to the Big12 but Big12 teams don't lose to Rice. That being said the Bearkats are not quite on the level on winning on the road against the Cougars. Houston 31 Sam Houston 20

Colorado St @ MTSU -2.0 6:00pm CT - Colorado State put a huge scare into Deion's Buffaloes while the Blue Raiders only win is over FCS Murray State but they did lose to two SEC schools. The Rams might be expecting to rebound and possibly could. The effort at Missouri and now back in Murfreesboro tells me to take the home team. MTSU 31 CSU 28

UNLV -2.5 @ UTEP 8:00pm CT - UNLV is 2-1 with their only loss to Michigan and UTEP's only win is over FCS Incarnate Word by two TDs. Give me the visiting Rebels to win and cover. UNLV 35 UTEP 21

NM State @ Hawaii -2.5 11:00pm CT - It is difficult to travel all the way to Honolulu and play football and stay focused but thankfully the Rainbows have been an FCS level team the last few years. I think the Aggies have the talent to pull this out. NMSU 40 Hawaii 31

RE: 2023 CUSA "Lines in the Sand" Pick 'Em - Week 4
WKU @ Troy -3.5 11:00am CT: WKU lost to OSU and Troy lost to KSU. I prefer OSU over KSU so WKU wins by that association.

La Tech @ Nebraska -20.0 2:30pm CT: Frost isn't there but Nebraska still has its woes. I'll have the Bulldogs with the surprise upset just like GaSo last season.

Eastern Michigan @ Jax St -6.0 4:00pm CT: EMU > UMass > NMSU so that's my logic. Jax St gets hurricanes and NM doesn't so that's also the logic.

Liberty -10.5 @ FIU 5:50pm CT: Hope they win out so we can face them in the championship. If FIU was wearing the Miami Vice uniforms then I would say they win.

Sam Houston @ Houston -12.5 6:00pm CT: Shorter name. Don't need to be asking who is Sam. I expect another low scoring game with SHSU doubling their total points this season.

Colorado St @ MTSU -2.0 6:00pm CT: Only because CSU is pissed at the loss and the death threats to their players. Need someone to take it out on. Should be an interesting game regardless.

UNLV -2.5 @ UTEP 8:00pm CT: UTEP 10 UNLV 9. Dimel does not like to score but somehow he wants to keep his job just enough to force UNLV to score less.

NM State @ Hawaii -2.5 11:00pm CT: NMSU pulls off a closer than wanted victory because of the surprise tactical luau Hawai'i decides to pull for "sportsmanship". Our overstuffed guys win by 2. The run and shoot seems to be hit or miss for Hawai'i. Lots of yards but lots of INTs, just like NMSU. Whoever turns it over less will win.

I am all discombobulated this week. I have been second guessing my picks daily. But I am sticking with my original gut feeling. Though, I won’t be surprised if FIU, Troy, Colorado St., Hawaii and E. Michigan win.
