I've probably said it on the other thread but I'd bet we had over 28k for ours. I've never seen the stadium that packed without it being a sellout.

RE: Attendance Week 3
Have to think that is best FCS paid attendance number ever. I was a little worried at kickoff that it would be pretty empty but by end of 1st quarter that place was rocking for a SWAC opponent.

If TXST was hosting Wake it would have been 28K easy because of the Baylor win.

PVA&M reported was a few hundred higher but the actual crowd was not. I was at the PV game. But seeing this one on TV I haven't seen it that full aside from the sellout games.

Pleased with having 86% capacity for Duquesne. The student section was packed and loud. The game was over after the first quarter though.

What's happened with the dropoff for ODU? We would have packed the house for Louisiana and Wake. I thought season ticket sales were good there.

I mean their at near capacity. 21,000 is their capacity, so their doing just fine until they are able to make moderate expansion.

90 minute weather delay, I’m guessing that had something to do with it.

I would like to think South Alabama's attendance should start climbing after what they did to the Cowboys.

Was at the Troy JMU game, that attendance count had to be tickets sold not actual AIS. No way that many in the Vet. Rain forecast must have kept them home

The weather delay was last week.

I cannot explain the drop off. This team is showing real potential. Hardly any Wake fans there. I think the AD does not market the team enough (budget?).

Let's be honest here. it is a fact that SBC teams have been known to tweak a few numbers here and there.05-nono

Not that its a horrible showing, just believe they had been at 21k last year, and Wake should have drawn well. That was an entertaining game, and they had a nice lead at the half.

We have got to win more. It's as simple as that and something we haven't done consistently for a while. We have our die hards that will be there no matter what but we won't see it packed all the time until we are consistently competitive. The good news is I think we are closer to putting a consistently decent product on the field than we have been in a while.

Not gonna lie, when we walked in through our gate, security was checking tickets but there was nobody scanning them.

All schools (except Navy) report numbers greater than tickets scanned, making these attendance figures subjective at best. There was a survey that came out a few years ago that showed only Navy's attendance 100% matched scanned numbers. USA was second on the list at like 95%. Some were laughable.

Then having a year like last after starting off with a win over VT probably makes some people take even more of a wait and see approach. Not hard to imagine a casual fan's reaction to the Louisiana game being "sure but look at what they did last year after beating Tech."

Need to win a few games. We took more fans to the Myrtle Beach Bowl than we had butts in the seats Sat. I've heard that VaBeach residences account for 2/3 of season tickets. The NAS Oceana Air Show with the Blue Angles pulled in 350,000-400,000, so that didn't help. Still a lame crowd. The tickets are mostly sold, so fans not using them, so they should give them up. But winning cures all ills.
