RE: How the AAC fared Week 3
The incomplete Massey Composite (only 15 sources to date) lists the SBC and MWC ahead of the AAC.
https://masseyratings.com/ranks?s=cf&c=1
Once conference play starts, it will be difficult to alter the ranking order.

RE: How the AAC fared Week 3
2-4 vs other G5 (including Army as a G-level independent) this weekend, including Thursday. Bad.
Just last year, 2022, we lost 4 games vs other G5 and G-level indies *all regular season long*.
We're now not anything other than a mediocre G5.

1. You omitted Navy at Memphis on Thursday. That counts like everything else, even as a league game.
2. You stole my thread title.

RE: How the AAC fared Week 3
Pivotal games for the AAC Saturday:
SMU @ TCU - defense looking good, run game needs a boost.
Memphis v. Mizzou - that Navy game has me concerned about Memphis.
UTSA and Charlotte upsets wouldn't hurt either.
Bring home the wins, boys.

AAC needs a big upset somewhere. I suspect that all the P5 games will see us as underdogs. A Memphis win would be big for the conference. FAU could win over a mediocre Illinois, if FAU shows up. SMU could upset TCU, I suppose. I can only hope that Temple wins, but holding the score within 10 points is probably a more feasible goal.

I agree. I think with Missouri's win over Kansas State, a Memphis win over Missouri would be a kind of "signature win" for the AAC.
As of right now, the AAC is 1-13 vs P5, the only win being Rice's 2x OT win over Houston, a team which is "P5" IMO in name only. The nB12 took a G5 hog and put P-lipstick on it, LOL.

Our defense showed up in every game thus far. Even against Clemson. Offense is another story. A top RB is out, a top QB got hurt against Clemson and was knocked out of the game with a knee injury, one of our top 2 WRs is out since being knocked out on the first play of the Ohio game. We need a lot of guys on offense to step up in a major way.

How the AAC fared Week 3
I'm noticing a theme. ECU and most of this league sucks. Sad thing is that an inferior coaching staff could get bowl eligible in this crap league and we get stuck with them. Basically fool's gold doing just enough to not get fired.

With this offense ECU is not going anywhere. We are staring straight down the barrel of an 0-12 season.
