It's early, but let's discuss. After week 3, we definitely have shown to be the most complete conference. Whether our top teams run through the league, or gain top 25 votes is a whole other battle, but as of tonight, I would have to think the SBC has earned the rub.

As of tonight we are 0-2 this season against the AAC’s top team in head to heads. That is the problem

Not with a loss.

I don't think any other G5 league has more depth than the SBC and I don't think it's particularly close. The concern is still beating each other up.

JMU, Marshall, Georgia State, Memphis, Air Force, Fresno State and Liberty are the only remaining unbeatens.

The Sun Belt West may already be eliminated. The Sun Belt East schedule is way, way, way tougher than Tulane's and Memphis' schedules that are full of the media market trash heap. They only have to get up for a few big games on the year. That's a big advantage for them.

It's still early and I'm not up to speed on some of the G5s, but right now I'd say Tulane has an inside lane if they go undefeated the rest of the way. Their SOS is taking a shellacking though. If they lose one more game they're probably out. I wish we could have played them after we got our CBs a couple of game experiences but that's just the way it goes.

There are too many variables involved to make a guess at this point. The conference as a whole is absolutely making its case, but it’s going to come down to final records of the individual conference champs.

Still way too early to tell. Right now if Fresno State wins tonight they'll be in the driver seat with 2 P5 wins.

If Marshall takes out Virginia Tech next week, I could see some top 25 votes start coming our way.

We also have NC State on our schedule. Seems, as crazy as it sounds, Marshall actually can control its own destiny on this NY6 if it wants based on its schedule.

No. Committee bias is still there. A 2 loss AAC team still gets in over a two loss Sun Belt team because of reasons...what reasons? No one will know nor will they articulate.

Lol, beating Arizona State! What an accomplishment. Who was their other win? The Sun Belt East has five teams better than Arizona State right now. If the committee wants to be BASED, they will take into account the strength of the Sun Belt overall, as it is obviously the strongest G5 top to bottom.

IDK. Their only hope is Tulane. We actually still have more room on our schedule to separate.

The problem we are going to have is something like (which I don’t think will happen) Marshall goes 12-1 with it’s only loss to say App on the road. That’s not a bad loss in reality, but it will put us behind Tulane if they are 12-1 because of when it will happen on the schedule.

I just can’t see an East team that can make it through 8-0. 7–1 will take a lot of lucky bounces. JMU and Marshall appear to have the defenses, App, Ga St and CCU have the offenses. Nobody seems to have both.

SBC now holds a vice grip to the nuts on the following:

Most G5 "P5" (or whatever they'll it means anymore) wins
Best FBS win %
Most undefeated teams remaining
5-4 vs AAC

I kinda want Liberty to go undefeated so we can see what the committee does with an undefeated CUSA team whose toughest opponent was WKU compared to some one or two loss SBC/AAC/MWC teams.

I hope everyone realizes why they said this. They were trying to defend a P5 losing by multiple scores in the second half. They would say the same thing about UTSA or Colorado State in a similar situation.
