AD gotta go. This was the most important hire in UAB athletics' history and he flubbed it. This was, in absolutely no way, a roster devoid of talent. UAB was in just about every game last season running literally 5 different plays. If the DC doesn't lose his job then I have no hope. I'll have to check in with y'all when basketball season hits.

I wish we had invited schools like ULL with a modicum of football culture. IMO UAB lacks that.

Last time I checked your team was 0-3. At least UAB has a win this season. Don't see why you're taking shots at others.

Bill Clark was an incredible coach. Might take some time for Dilfer to hit his stride.

Dilfer won big in high school with a massive resource advantage (e.g., IPF, financial aid, nationwide recruiting, etc) and outstanding tradition compared to other Tennessee high schools. Now, instead of coaching at the high school version of an Alabama, he coaches at UAB.
Nevertheless, patience is required, I think. He needs time to prove his worth, IMO.
P.S.: I recommend not getting your hopes up about BB. The same dead weight dragging down North Texas' NCAA bid last season will be present next season.

Good game, Blazers. It just wasn’t yalls night. It tough to prepare for someone like Zeon Chriss with no tape. Looking forward to the return trip in the near future. Best of luck the rest of the way!

It’s far too early to make this statement. The results have been awful so far, but Dilfer has coached 3 games. Nobody at UAB is, or should be happy with where we are right now, but any new coach deserves more than 3 games. Dilfer does have some questions that need to be answered, and he needs to change a lot in a short period, but this is a terrible spot to be in after three weeks with Georgia up next.

That makes it sound like we had a chance and just got unlucky breaks. Or that we’ve looked good but just had a bad night. That was just a good old fashioned ass whooping and a lot of what we’ve seen so far this season.
Good luck this season.

Eh this should have been one of the best DL in the conference but they've gotten blown off the ball every game. Even NC A&T had no problem moving our guys around. By his own admission, Dilfer didn't inherit a program that needed to be built. UAB has won damn near 70% of its games since returning in 2017. Dilfer needed to go somewhere where'd he have 5 years to learn on the job and be able to build the program, but he ended up at a program that has annual expectations to compete for championships from his first day.

I get that, but it was directed towards not being prepared for Zeon. That dude is a game changer and most Cajun fans thought he would be QB1 week 1. That was a serious wrinkle the UAB staff was unprepared for.

Seems UNT is back to their historic norm as well, the bottom of the standings.

They wouldn't know this. I'd said on the Sun Belt board that Ben Woolridge wasn't it, and that Louisiana had lost their swagger. Then Zeon comes in and all of that changes, and you could literally see it in the way that the team played.
It was sort of the same for App when Joey Aguilar came in; even in comparison to last year with Chase Brice. Chase is a great QB who could really throw the ball, but he wasn't as mobile and thus big plays were limited to throwing. Aguilar came in and delivered hits to Gardner-Webb, took some shots against UNC, and has really galvanized the team to bring back that element of toughness.
Zeon has done the same to Louisiana. The Sun Belt may be reset back to it's rightful place, as a fight between Louisiana and App.

Well, we soon see if this was just a one time thing or not, as Woolridge is out ‘for foreseeable future.’ At least 4-6 weeks. Hate to see that happen to him, but it looks like we have quite the back-up.
And wouldn’t the bolded part of your post be fantastic?

If only to see the JMU group go back behind the bushes, absolutely. The conference is much different than even two years ago now though so it's impossible to project.
At any rate, pulling for Zeon. Go beat Minnesota, as you all should do by more than one score, in my opinion.
