It's worth attending just for halftime. In addition to The MOB you get The Ocean of Soul.

Note to the Sun Belt trolls. This is the real TSU. Always has been. Southwest Texas State is not TSU.

I’m biased, but I’m hoping (expecting) Rice to tack on a 28-0 finish to go along with a 28-0 start (matching last week’s start, but back it up with an equally impressive 2nd half.

I’m ok if TSU scores, but we have to keep them to single digits.

We’re a NYD6 candidate now, style points matter. We are 2-0 in beating expectations and have beat the spread by about 9 points in both games. We need to keep doing that until we start getting votes in the top 25 polls.

Apparently it is not known whether TSU will have their QB1 back from injury. He did not play in last weeks 71-3 setback to Toledo.

So THAT'S what happened! Was checking the ticker during our game and was shocked when I saw that Toledo led 50-3 at the half.

Just noticed that North Texas has given up the most points so far in AAC with 104 points against. Number two worst defense in AAC this early is Rice with 78 points given up. It would stand to reason that playing TSU, less points would be scored upon and help mitigate that number. The best by far is Memphis with only 17 points given up.

78 points in basically 2 1/2 games against two Big12 teams. Given that we won one of those two games, I’ll take that.

I do prefer our first half defense (23 points in two games) to our second half defense (42 points, or 21 points each game).

And our OT defense (6.5 points allowed per possession is not great but it was “good enough “!!)

Memphis I expect them to continue to put up good defensive numbers, certainly this week (Navy), and probably all season TBH

We gave up 37 points to Texas. Alabama gave up 34.

I don't mind if people want to take that as evidence that Alabama's defense is just a smidgen tougher.

Of those 17, 14 were given up by the offense. The defense hasn't given up a touchdown. Of course, look at the two teams we played.

Memphis’ D last night seemed to be the opposite of Rice’s.

Allowed a TD on two of the first three drives, and allowed one on the first drive of the Second half. Otherwise they only gave up a FG.

I’d take a D that’s stout at the end over one that stops you early but can be solved with adjustments (or once fatigue kicks in) like Rice has been so far.

After Navy scored their last TD, Memphis Defense held on the last 6 possessions: Punt, punt, punt, FG, fumble, downs.

Texas Southern drive:

1 play -9 yards one fumble lost
(Actually a dropped lateral that was supposed to be a swing pass)

Rice drive: 4 plays 16 yards 0/0 on 3rd down and JT Daniels 0/0 thru the air.

Rice 7 TSU 0

Wow the first two plays from scrimmage for TSU end up with Rice and the ball in the end zone.

First one took a review to overturn the incomplete pass to give Rice possession.

Second one was called a fumble that Rice recovered and returned for the TD.

Review (correctly) gave the ball back to TSU, the knee was down just before the ball popped out.

TSU finally get to run three plays and get to punt. Good Rice return has us set up with another short field…

The bad: JT Daniels is only hitting his season average completion rate, 2/3.

The good: both completions were for TDs

21-0 still early, Rice.

This is just how we #FirstQuarter

Just 7 minutes in so far
