It’s going to take a few weeks for people to find the games on CW.

We also have to keep these ratings in context. The CW has very few programs that average 500,000 or more viewers. My guess is they barely get 250,000 in that time slot on average

Note that the CBS game (UCLA at San Diego State) and the NBC game of Charlotte at Maryland were special broadcast not regular. So most weekends the CW will be going up against FOX/ESPN/ABC and an occasional Notre Dame game on NBC.

In Pittsburgh, I have FuBo and assumed I had CW and didn’t realize I didn’t until kickoff. I’ll make sure to get a digital antenna next time, so I can get it over the air, but just listened on the radio. I’m guessing that others ran into the same thing.

According to the internet,
Quote:For the 2022-23 broadcast season, the CW primetime audience averaged 548,000 viewers

That means the two Pitt games both exceeded the average CW show - but the other games were all below average.

A lot of those viewers tuned in to watch Bob’s Burgers and just never bothered to change the channel.

The ACC needs to develop this relationship. It has been working out so far. Keep the ACC vs FCS/G5 off the CW and most games should get 500k

I hope they don’t cancel the ACC. Maybe it’s good the writers guild is on strike so that the CW has no choice but to fil their time with live sports.

I don't know why ACCN viewership is never released. BTN games are always released. Maybe ACCN carriage isn't as widespread as BTN but when BTN has one of the Big Three, it is fairly common for the games to have 1M or more. Last week, BTN had Michigan State at Rutgers and had 503K. I'd have to believe the right ACCN games could easily have half a million viewers and with Florida State they could get one million. I'd love to see if a Florida State game on CW could get a million.

Networks have to pay for Nielsen ratings. ESPN prefers to use their own internal stats, which they don't release to the public. They must release the internal numbers to potential advertisers, however.

So far 3 of the 4 Primetime ACC Games on the CW have exceeded the CW average primetime show ratings. Looks like the ACC has been a good get for the CW!

Cincy @ Pitt- 617K viewers
Louisville @ Pitt - 569Kviewers
Virginia @ North Carolina - 788Kviewers

Are these true Tier three games? Meaning that the ABC/ESPN/ESPN2/ACCN are selected first? If so the ACC has pretty strong Tier 3 Ratings!
