JMU seems to have taken a step back at the QB position, but overall they looked solid watching the UVA game and most impressed with JMU's defensive line/scheme. Troy's lines are solid on both sides and probably have the edge at QB/WR.

Old cliché likely holds true for this game, whoever wins the TO battle wins. Definitely not putting $ down.

JMU pass D is questionable. Run D is solid. If JMU can limit the big play and get pressure on the QB, JMU has a strong shot winning the game.

My best guess is that people don't trust McCloud. A good defense who can pressure and contain should be able to tee off on him. But, he is Ray Ray McCloud's brother so contain may be easier said than done.

He did a lot of it against what was suppose to be a stout UVA Defensive line.

He seemed like a good QB to me. What am I missing? His stats are pretty good also.

He started practicing with the team again a few weeks ago. He has not played in a game so far, but he did earn the "job taker of the week" award a few days ago, so I'd say there is a chance. Sumrall, when asked, said we'll just have to watch the game to see if he plays. He is not listed on the depth chart.

Seems like a long suspension for violating team rules, must have been a severe violation.

I'm sure some insiders know what happened, but nothing has been made public to my knowledge.

Why is Troy State only a 2 pt favorite? I thought they were the defending Sun Belt champion. Seems like with the home field advantage they should be much bigger favorites.

You do realize it was only the 2nd game and we played a top 15 team and possibly a playoff contender, right? Yes we shot ourselves in the foot in some areas but don’t forget who we played. Can’t make mistakes like we did against a team like K-state. Give our guys some credit. There are positives to take away. JMU looked good and they are a solid team. That being said who they played, UVA is in no way in any category k-state is.

I'm assuming you're talking about both Troy and JMU based on that response LOL.

I had this game circled as the one I was the most concerned about and the toughest on the schedule.
JMU had a big win last week but did not play their best.
I think this game is really dependent on our passing defense, which has not been good this year. I think they are capable, but just haven't gotten it figured out yet.
Plus there is a concern by Cignetti of having a game ala Georgia Southern and fear that this team may have to learn the hard way (aka lose).
A lot of respect for Troy and feel there are just too many factors against us this time.

i'm more impressed by how he performed in the clutch.

led an opening drive TD against a charged up crowd and team

led back to back 80 yard touchdown drives where anything less than 7 points both times likely results in a loss.
