Exclamation Week 3 Sun Belt Predictions
[Image: vmSk3ov.jpg]

P5 Upset Watch
South Alabama at Oklahoma State
Georgia Southern at Wisconsin

My bold prediction for the week...we will win one of these two games. South's game against a ranked FCS tells me the Tulane game was probably a hiccup. And GS has a history of playing P5 games tough and Wisconsin has a 21-point win over a Buffalo team that lost to a Patriot League team and lost to Wazzu. BTW the SP+ gives us a 44% chance of a P5 win this week.

The other P5 games:
ULM at Texas A&M - not much of a shot here
Wake Forest at ODU - Wake will prevail here but ODU puts up a good fight

The AAC games:
Tulane at Southern Miss - USM is the team I honestly think we may know the least about but I don't think Willie Fritz will lose to this team 2 years in a row.
ECU at App - ECU doesn't have QB figured out. App will hammer this team.
Georgia State at Charlotte - Charlotte is just not good. Granger and Carroll won't need many points to win it.
Louisiana at UAB - if the Cajuns had this team at home I'll take them but with them making another trip on the road I don't think they'll win.

The FCS games:
Duquesne at Coastal - Coastal will have no problem with this team
Stony Brook at Ark State - Is this be the start of a one-game winning streak? Definitely!
Jackson State at Texas State - Bobcats win easily

The Conference Game:
JMU at Troy - It's September and playing one of the best games of the year. I think JMU squeaks by.

Bye Week:
Marshall

RE: Week 3 Sun Belt Predictions
I'm laying all the money that Marshall remains undefeated after week 3.

We've got 4 AAC teams this week. Gotta lay the wood.

I think App is a lock in Boone. GSU is probably going to win. Louisiana is 50/50 @UAB. USM is somewhere just under 50/50. I think USM can win and want them to, but head says they drop this one. there is that Tulane/USM voodoo where Tulane just cant seem to ever beat their daddies, though.

If we go 2-2 we still win. Anything more than that is gravy and shuts the mouths on some of those fools, or makes them point to composites that don't matter at this point in the year, while ignoring on the field performance.

If App's QB is any good and they are smart enough to realize they should throw it 75% of the time they win by 30+. If they are stubborn enough to try to be balanced on offense they'll only win by 17 or so.

I hate to put this on Joey, but he may be the best processor at QB that App has had in FBS. He makes his reads faster than any other App QB I remember, throwing to guys on outs, ins, curls, slants, etc. before they are ever looking back for the ball. He also slides in the pocket like he's been coached by an NFL QB Coach.

He is much better than Fancher, so I'll leave it at that. I'd expect Ponce to use a lot of mis-direction to slow ECU's front down. Marshall pretty much lined up and tried to run it down ECU's throat, which in obvious run situations, did not work well. Ponce won't beat his head on a brick wall for too long.
