We don’t really have a real threat on offense right now. Game plan is meh. Defense is a tragedy in the passing game. Out rush is okay but can’t seem to defend the pass….now we are breaking down against the run.
Looks like a long season…I am sure we will handle Iowa and Miss St real well….

Expected. But swallowing these “game is over, empty the bench by halftime” affairs is so hard.

Well, here is what is problematic, it crushes the brand and perception of the school. It’s one thing to lose to a P5 school, it’s another thing to look like you don’t belong anywhere near the field they are playing on.
It’s not just WMU, but the MAC as a whole. As a conference we refuse to invest in athletics and nobody will have anything to do with our member institutions. Most of them are suffering financially. Yes, there are many reasons but you can’t just let it happen to you!
In all of conference realignment, no MAC school ever gets asked to move or courted.
I used to yell at people for saying this but we really probably belong in FCS.

What did you think was going to happen this season?

Patience, grasshoppers. Give Taylor some time.

I suppose it’d be wise to see how we do in the MAC, though starting with the best one (UT) isn’t ideal.

But if this is a rough year, hopefully it’s a short-lived stay like we’re used to, and not a 5+ year slump like the basketball program is experiencing. I don’t think that slump will happen under Taylor.

But September and early October won’t be fun. We’re gonna be licking a lot of wounds.

Salopek doesn’t have as strong an arm as Bourget, and I don’t see scrambling or decision-making skills that outshine Bourget….so….could someone help me understand why he’s out there? I mean besides his parents, cuz I’m sure he’s an incredible young man.

Syracuse officially has more points against us going into the half than they did against Colgate last week.

Wow. That pick 6 was just….we had guys falling down everywhere. What a terrible looking team.

I may have to adjust my 58-13 prediction… might not be enough of a slaughter.

Kent State and WMU were projected to be last in their respective divisions.

KSU in a tight game at Arkansas 14-6 at halftime.

We look like a Division II team at Syracuse.

That half couldn’t have gone worse…what a terrible performance all around. Please play a different QB in the second half. Jack missed several open receivers. Never seen a worse penalty-filled performance. Just awful!

Whelp. Just got back from my son's game. Maybe I shouldn't be too mad about them having middle school football in the afternoons...

I think we can move on from the Salopek experience. I know there are many other issues at okay right now, but he is absolutely not an FBS QB.

On paper Wolf seemed to have good stats, but must’ve not impressed the staff if he’s 3rd on the depth chart.

Tough to see our QB room so unimpressive, especially when you consider it was built under a QB guy (Lester).

Zero reason not to throw out literally anyone else under center.

Please start Wolff or bourget in the second half.

I know it will probably be against cuse 2s or 3s but who cares

QB is a concern, but the play of the O-line is as pathetic as last years group and pass coverage is bad. QB's get to much credit and too much criticism for a team sport.

It may be that Salopek is the best QB we have at this moment, but Bourguet has more tools. Get him experience. Or Wolff, sure, don't know much about him.

Offense…please don’t go “fast” in the second half. Run the full play clock between plays and let’s get the hell out of there. Get some guys some game experience and let’s move on. Also…how about a bit more disciplined 2nd half all the way around.

Only thing I liked about the 1st half is that Taylor does show some fire on the sideline.

Pretty sure the Walsh Cavaliers would have put up more a fight than that vs Cuse.
