Most ECU dgaf about the AAC to be honest. It's been a means to an end. Ask USM. We were the oddballs in CUSA and spent our formative years as Independents. The only issue ECU has w/ the SBC is the TV deal and exit fees we can't just walk from.
ECU is a financial hostage.

Understand, we were like that in the MAC. The TV Deals will start to equal out, just a gut feeling and I know its been beaten to death. Remember, butts in seats always makes more money than any G5 tv deal can provide. Exit fees, gotta be careful about those, MTSU didn't leave for the MAC because of it and now they may be stuck. Screwed WKU in the process. In a perfect world, WKU and ECU would be in the SB with us.

That's not accurate for the SBC as a conference. In 2022 the SBC brought in around 5% of it's overall athletic revenue from ticket sales, while 8% came from conference distributions. You also brought in the same 5% from competition guarantees, AKA buy games. Only App had a higher % of their athletic revenue come from ticket sales than conference distributions.

ECU in 2022 brought in 11% of it's revenue from ticket sales and 17% of it's revenue from conference distributions.

Think you misunderstood me. What I was saying was in ECU's case, I think it would increase your ticket sales, you have 2 rivals in the East with us and App, then you have close schools in CCU and ODU. In some ways your fan sales can go up and in other ways the away teams actually bring in fans because you are so close to them. It's all in how you look at it. I believe JMU would travel, and you know Marshall and App travels. Don't know about Southern.

They gave Texas (who's obviously really good) a more respectable showing than ECU gave Michigan and then they just beat Houston and JT Daniels threw for over 400 yards. I think ECU's run defense is elite, and I think our pass rush and pass coverage are absolute trash, so that game is a massive problem. I mean hell GW gave one of the SBC's finest, the mighty App State a real game, they were up at half and only down 7 going into the 4th if ECU plays on offense like they have so far they'll lose that game too.
If the Pirates could afford it, ECU should get rid of MH and hire GW’s Coach Lamb at the end of the season. Young innovative offensive mind that won’t be at Gwebb much longer.
