UAB open up as a 4-point underdog!
We'll see! These lines might jump around a little during the next few hours.

First away game for first year head coach, yeah 4 point underdog is what we would be with Clark or Vincent considering how many times they lost their first away game of the season too.
That line may move closer to us if we get Swoopes and Miller back. Need our starting safeties to be healthy against a Clay Helton coached GSU team.

Leaning toward picking Ga So. Undecided on 28-24 or 31-24

Their QB is a six-year transfer from Tulsa that isn't all that impressive in my eyes. Decent, but injury prone and while he can move in a sprint, he isn't very shifty.
The real strength of Georgia Southern's offense this year IMO is their running game, which could be a big problem for us. It's good our defense got so many reps against the run this week.
We also get the advantage of the extra days between games.
We need to force a few turnovers and I think we have this one in the bag.

Hey guys, visited your stadium last year. Very fun game and loved the stadium. One thing that really beat us up last year was y’all’s hard hitting running game. Didn’t y’all’s RB get drafted? He was a stud. If y’all replaced him with someone comparable, then that’s great for your season going forward.
In any case, going into year two under Helton, I can definitely say that our defense looks to be swarming faster and harder this year. Under this DC we are now putting pressure on the QB which we didn’t do much at all last year. Offensively, our new QB isn’t as accurate on the deep ball as KVT was, but he is for sure faster and has a great short range. He also makes a decision and doesn’t hesitate. I don’t like that he seems to take a minute to load up on some throws, but his pump fake is great. We still haven’t seen our 6’7 TE. I believe he is academically ineligible for a couple of games, so you all won’t see him either. In the spring he was a monster though. Hopefully he’ll be back for Wisconsin. Our receivers look to be better this year, and our run game is always pretty good. Barring injury we should put up a lot of points in the Sunbelt this year. We played our tune up game so everything was kinda vanilla. The second half was a lot of rotating and experimenting. You all will be our real first test.

McBride was drafted in the 7th round, was cut but I believe signed to the Vikings pratice squad? I believe that’s correct anyway.
And we’ve got a pretty good replacement for him with Jermaine Brown, though I think we were hoping to see him featured a little more last week. Still, made good runs when he did get it, 6 runs for 47 yds and 4 catches for 33 yds. I think last week was used more for getting Zeno comfortable in the offense and being the lead guy at QB. One area I’m interested is our defense, particularly the run defense. We had quite a few missed tackles, but A&T ran it on like 80-85% of their plays, so that’ll naturally up the number of missed tackles a defense has. Curious to see what happens with a team that’s bigger and more balanced with their offensive approach.
Should be a good game Saturday. This should give us a better representation of where we’re at with this new regime.

Yeah. I’m seeing it up to 6.5 in many places now, and you can get that at -105. I’m still not 100% certain of what to expect from this team, but I just have a gut feeling we find a way. The +180 to +210 money line is interesting too.
