Next opponent - Syracuse
Yesterday's score Syracuse 65 Colgate 0.
Syracuse had 406 yards passing and over 270 rushing yards. Our d-backs looked lost in space on Thursday. If that happens this Saturday we may end up like Colgate. I sure hope we perform better.

We'll have to buckle up and may have to swallow some bitter medicine over the next few weeks. Just hoping for good plays by up-and-comer players to watch over the next couple years. L's sting. But if these are relatively competitive games and not "over by halftime" affairs, I'll consider that a plus.

19 point dogs per the first betting line I saw. Can’t say it’s inaccurate.

I'm not overly concerned with the drubbing that Colgate took, as they're a bottom of the barrel team in FCS. But I was looking at Cuse's depth chart and they have some serious size across the board. Our guys will really be challenged in the trenches.

Right there with you on that.

Early betting must be heavily toward Syracuse. It’s -23.5 now.

RE: Next opponent - Syracuse
We won't be able to run our offense like we did last week. No way, squeezing out so many 1st, 2nd, then 3rd and short downs to get the 1st, etc. Our QB can't pass very well. Passed under 50% last year. Even if improved I can't see him being notably better. I was hoping to see us play with multiple QBs last week. But I guess we wanted to just stay in a rhythm and ensure we got a W as our opponent was a pretty good FCS team.

If we had a decent passer set for QB, I'd say we'd beat the current spread. I think we're going to play too close to last week on O, and we won't beat the current spread unless Syracuse plays pretty sloppy. Basically a "lesson week".

RE: Next opponent - Syracuse
Salopek won't do well against them; hopefully we play with our QBs during this game. And by week 3, Iowa's offense should be settled in well to where we can just "punt" that game as a big solid loss too, to develop our QB situation. I think Salopek will be great for teams with whom we're not solid underdogs of + his style matches well with opponent's D. But I think these two + Miss State will be good games to set things well in this position.

That said, I think if we play well (that suits us) -- we can beat the spread which is now -24.5. Basically losing by 17-24. I'd be very happy if we make it a 2 possession game in the end. Syracuse is supposed to be an ACC title contender this year. And their HC does not scoff at the MAC (former BGSU coach), so we won't have that moderate advantage on the side if we show up to play well.

24.5 point underdogs now. That’s a 5 point movement from the opening line. Big change over the course of the week!

Syracuse was predicted for 9th (Lindy's), 10th (Athlon), and 11th (SI) in ACC.

Hardly a contender.

We are gonna get destroyed, Syracuse is making strides to stay relevant, we are not.

56-13 (we miss an extra point)

Curious who said Syracuse is supposed to be an ACC title contender this year? I’d like to see it, but highly unlikely to happen. Syracuse has a tough 3 game stretch right in the middle of their schedule against Clemson, UNC, and FSU that will probably squash any ACC title hopes. Clemson may have lost to Duke, but that was an odd game where the offense moved the ball, yet struggled to score.

You got your wish

I talked to #92 Parent.

Seems only family here...maybe 75-100 WMU fans

I hope we play again a 2 game series in 10 years or so. I enjoyed my visit to Kalamazoo

Wow! Looks like a weak crowd from the home squad as well. Is Babers on the hot seat?

We had 32K+ announced...probably 29K actual at peak...most left at halftime.

Babers isn't on the hot seat at the moment. Crowds should improve
