Kansas State game
We could have a Top Five FCS team and still lose this game so its hard to put a lot on what happens. These money games can go a lot of different directions score-wise depending on how both coaches decide to play it. Do they use new plays and formations or save them for more meaningful games? Do they substitute very early and very often or keep starters in a while? Do they have guys they are worried about getting injured in a game like this that they hold out? Do they open the offense up at all or just run the ball and throw screen passes? I have seen Tuke do it both ways depending on how the early part of the game looks and the same with their FBS opponents. It would be very cool if we could hang in there and give KState a scare or even pull off the biggest upset of the year. We have a good returning defense with size and speed that is not that different than a lot of FBS schools. We have some great skill position personnel on offense. Most worried that we have three new starting offensive lineman and field goal kicking and punting both a little suspect. I can't wait to watch the game on Saturday.

Disappointing not to get a single score with the offense we had. I didn't get to watch a lot of the game but from what I saw it seems like the offensive line had a lot of trouble creating any holes for the running game. The secondary is going to again be the biggest question mark on defense. Excited to see how we do against FCS opponents going forward.

We looked MUCH WORSE losing to K. State 45-0 than UT-Martin did losing to Georgia 48-7. Our rush blocking was really bad. Hess never had a chance.

I do think that Georgia swapped in 2nd and 3rd string earlier on. But I too was comparing the two scores simultaneously. I agree that the secondary is going to have to get better at their reads so we don't give up big 3rd down plays.

Georgia was only up 7-0 after the first quarter and 17-0 at the half. UT-M played much better against their first string than they did their second and third string. LOL, figure that one out.

RE: Kansas State game
Our passing game was respectable considering that our running game was non existent. They knew we were throwing and they were keying on Flournoy and he still had 10 catches and almost 100 yards. The line pass blocked ok but they did not give Geno a single hole to run through all game. I have a feeling that will improve drastically next week at home against Lindenwood. I think our pass defense will look much better against FCS teams, KState's quarterback is big, strong and threw some dimes. They have future NFL players at Tight End, Wide Receiver and probably 2 or 3 on the offensive line. Our DBs will not face a situation like that again this year. Overall it would have been nice to score a few points but it really doesnt matter if it is 45-0 or 45-10, I just hope we came out healthy.
