I really think it's the JMU try-hards who now think they are God's gift to Earth. I think we were warned by ODU and Liberty folks but man, it is getting to be insufferable.

My primary issue with them now is that they claim to be ahead of everyone even with a Redshirt Freshman QB while they say App has issues because App is starting a redshirt Freshman QB. They also ignore the fact that an, at minimum, 10 point swing thanks to an officiating error handed them the win against App. They beat a Coastal team with an injured Macaw and Chadwell with two feet out of the door, they lost to Georgia Southern and Marshall.

We've seen this story before with Georgia Southern. They came in and won the league in Year 1 and haven't been close to it since. Cautionary tale not to underestimate the value of a departing QB like Ellison, and in this case Centeio.

had nothing to do with losing Ellison. Had everything to do with hiring a low functioning idiot and then doubling down and hiring his special teams coach after he was fired.

Elliot is gone after this year if this keeps up.

Is he though? I'd like to think he will be held to a standard but can't help but wonder if it actually plays out that way. While he's never had a great season, he probably bought himself a disproportionate amount of goodwill simply by bringing a little bit of consistency to our young and oft-struggling program.

People dog-piling Georgia State and I'm here for it, but I honestly think they'll beat UConn and Charlotte.

That young back 7 on defense will get better at understanding their assignments. Grainger and Carroll if they stay healthy will carry that offense. The OL is gritty and tough as usual.

Offense looks very good. I think the defense is a DC problem, not just a back 7 problem.

It's definitely a Staggs issue. He needs to be a linebackers coach somewhere, not a DC.

URI isn't the complete garbage team they used to be, the coach there deserves a much better gig. No need to jump to conclusions off the first game of the season. You were expected to win and you won.

A win is a win, especially in Week 1. URI was not the laughing stock that they used to be. I saw some good talent on their side.

Congrats to Georgia State! It's the first game of the season and I'll remind everyone many teams struggle in the first game or two. Several schools in our own league have had close calls with FCS teams over the years and then went on to have a great season. Personally I hope GSU goes 4-0 out of conference...in conference, I could care less about what they do so long as we can slap them around a bit. (GS really needs to start taking them seriously)

They ACTUALLY give away tickets and still no one comes. They will probably announce 18K in attendance.

Some of y'all need to grow a thicker skin. Unfortunately for some, JMU's primary fan board is on CSNbbs so unlike most other fanbases that are mainly represented by "Sun Belt" fans on here, you're getting the full spectrum of JMU fans. Anyone on here really going to espouse the virtues of every poster on their main boards or facebook groups?

So regardless of the number of whiners and d-bags some of your fanbases may have, I think no less of your school nor your alumni. Except ODU.

That's a very good point. There's a reason why I post more here than I do on TroyFans.com

I honestly hadn't really thought of that either. While I don't necessarily think it's a matter of thin skin (sometimes annoying behavior is just annoying), it does make sense that there will be more sentiment that supports JMU at the expense of others in the SBC...

At least the students filled out their section nicely. I can attest their screaming and hollering made the difference in salvaging the atmosphere.

It's that soft zone a good qb will pick apart.
