2008 Rice went 10-3 and was the only team in the conference to lose one CUSA game.
That team lost to UT 52-10
(But beat Memphis by 7 and beat Tulane by 25)

2013 Rice went 10-4 and won CUSA.
That team gave up 52 to Texas A&M and lost 44-7 to MSU. (But beat Tulane to clinch the Western Division title).

So it’s a shame we missed an opportunity against a UT team that was more rusty than burnt orange.
