Another Reason Louisville fans are excited about this season….
Quote from Louisville running back Jawhar Jordan:

"Going against teams last year, they had 8-man boxes and you could just hear them calling our plays," Jordan said. "So it's kind of good that we're more versatile now
."

https://www.wdrb.com/sports/crawford-jor...ca152.html

Jordan was the team’s leading rusher with 815 yards on 142 carries ... averaged 5.7 yards a carry ... scored four touchdowns ... named the Most Valuable Player of the Wasabi Fenway Bowl after rushing for for 115 yards on nine carries against Cincinnati ... scored on runs of 49 and 41 yards

I know myself and other Cardinal fans I know are excited to potentially seeing the return of Petrino V1 style Football that Brohm embraced and added His own twists and turns to. Should be exciting over the next several years.

Brohm was exciting to watch as a player, and his Purdue teams were fun to watch too (when they weren't just totally outgunned).

And, by the way Card fans, Jordan is a traitor.

Never heard about, or had a chance to watch Jeff Brohm in college, but I remember his baby brother Brian, was amazing at Louisville. I guess its something about that family where it runs thru the blood.

Just kidding. I dont blame the kid, as their was no way he was starting over Sean Tucker. I dont know why Dino didnt have them both in the backfield as a one, two punch.

I'm probably thinking of Brian Brohm.

There's quite an age gap between Jeff and Brian Brohm ...

Jeff was a back up to Browning Nagle in the 1991 Fiesta Bowl. Jeff took over as starting QB the next year after Nagle was drafted by the Jets. In 1993 Jeff led the Cards to a Liberty Bowl win over Michigan State.

Brian played at U of L from 2004 - 2007. The first three years under Bobby Part 1. The last under Steve Kragthorpe (ouch).

I'm not sure there's a Brohm in the next generation for us Card fans. There was this video of Brooke Brohm (Jeff's daughter) throwing a TD pass in a Powder Puff League recently. She's got the arm.

Holy crap ... I turned 54 on Sunday.

Happy Birthday, twin!

We share this day with Pee Wee Herman (RIP), and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad). Locally, we share with radio-website-book-Cardinal-guy Mike Rutherford.

Happy belated birthday to you guys first and foremost.

Second, my gut says we're in for a historic season. Its just a feeling I'm getting. I think this team is going to play like it has a long tenured HC and not a year 1 coach. Funny thing is, i wasn't a Brohm guy initially. I wanted a search. But man. He's just nailed EVERYTHING since getting here and I'm just feeling something special brewing.

I hope you're right.

You know what worries me?? All this sports talk about "Louisville's schedule is sooooo easy. There's no Florida State, Clemson or UNC".

Uhhh ... Pitt's pretty freakin' good.

NC State is loaded for bear (or is it bare??).

Duke
won 9 games last year and return pretty much everybody.

Georgia Tech played ballz out to finish the season for their interim coach ... who they made their permanent coach, and he's also an alum.

I mean ... our schedule is not as easy as the talking heads are saying. 11 Power 5 schools on it. That's not an easy road.

I get the optimism, but I'm nervous the expectations game will bite our butts.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new Louisville offense. The Cards have a talented backfield and it sounds like the new coach is giving these players a lot more to do.

As long as Marcus Vick isn't out there stomping on legs we'll be alright. In all seriousness, just typing that out made me realize that those brothers are 2 of the 3 things I associate most with VT.

1 Mike Vick (loved him in college)
2 Marcus Vick (fugg that guy)
3 Beamer Ball
