ODU ladies secure their third conference title in a row. Second as members of the Sun Belt. Winning goal came with 2 minutes left in second OT

Congrats, you all definitely played better the last 20 or so minutes of regulation, and then the second overtime. You all still looked crisp. We looked tired. Hopefully, we are on the right side of the bubble, but I'm not holding my breath.

Women's Soccer 2023
Guess we are regressing back to the mean where ODU is only good at women's sports. Glad for the victory though...field hockey took a big east crown today as well. Good things happening in the non revenues.

Would love for that to translate to the other sports.

Only caught the last 20 minutes and OT.

ODU looked the better team. Way more technically sound and skilled than us, especially with the ball.

Deserved win. Go rep the Belt well!

Along with ODU, JMU got an at-large bid. Despite having an RPI of 27, South Alabama got left out of the NCAA Tournament.

ODU will travel to take on Georgetown and JMU heads to South Carolina for first round matches this weekend.

So James Madison, with a record of 9-4-8 and an RPI of 39 made the tournament as an at large while South Alabama, 16-1-3 with an RPI of 27 stays home. Wow. The only game USA lost all season was to James Madison and that kept USA at home. Unreal.

We still played in the #9 conference. Texas finished with an RPI of 25 and a 15-4-2 record against the #7 conference and they’re a national seed. Either RPI means something or it doesn’t.

I’m not saying you didn’t deserve to get in.

Just saying what was probably the factor that left you out

What is also confusing is JMU is playing a 7 seed and ODU is playing a 3 seed. So effectively JMU is a 10 seed and ODU is a 14 seed. I know for these sports seeding doesn’t fall exactly like March Madness, but I still assume they keep it somewhat reasonable.

Feel bad for USA. They should've gotten the at-large as well.

Get used to it. TXST WBB got left out of the NCAAs last year in spite of the fact they won the regular season championship and, lest we forget the snub of the TXST volleyball team.

Even though it's not supposed to be a thing, you have to be almost flawless to get into the P5 invitationals these days.

South Alabama Softball was literally the first team out last year. It’s not a fun thing. The NCAA sucks.
