A Big Ten team can't come close to selling out its season opener?

The Illini recently haven't had strong opening opponents. Last two openers they drawn about 38,000-40,000 in a 60,670 seat stadium. Both afternoon games. With higher expectation and a later start, could be a better turnout.

Nebraska was still covid years. Wyoming a bit far away. Toledo could add to the numbers somewhat. Tickets as low at $3.

Per their message board the number looks like 45k, which is netter than normal. Some help from the 1000 or so Toledo fans. And a night game.

UT needs to get off to a great start, anything less would be a disappointment.
