This and some kids just want to get away. And I understand that. Many want to compete against the best and see where they stand. W the portal, we can pick them up on the back end if it doesn't work out.

It rarely works out. I can think of a couple that it did work out for them, but 9 times out of 10, the players are buried in the depth chart.

5* kids go to “mostly” traditional P5 top 10 programs. A few scattered beyond.
4* kids go to “mostly” traditional P5 top 20 programs. A few scattered beyond that.
Lots of reasons for that. Money, competition, tv, bigger bowl and playoff, pathway to NFL perceived easier, perceived prestige. Take your pick.
