I reached out to officials close with Kate Upton. More to come as I get additional information.

This just in! I've just received word that Justin Verlander wants to drill you in the back with a baseball. (Sorry. Had to do it.)

Her husband is still hitting close to 100 mph. I think I'll wait a few years before reaching out to her.

As for the Pac officials reaching out to the ACC, I actually believe that they waited until today to get serious with ACC discussions b/c, you know, it's the Pac.

If ESPN wanted an ACC-PAC merger, it would have happened back in the fall. George is barking up the wrong tree.

Is Jim Williams someone reputable?
This is the first time I've seen his name mentioned.
I'd like to see the ACC get into the mix but am not hopeful.

Fake news. Jim Williams was blindsided by the CU move and is getting spoonfed by pro PAC sources.

That’s what the Pac-12 *should* be doing, but I wouldn’t be taking the writer of the Tweet itself as a dependable report like McMurphy, Thamel, etc.

I can see panic in the PAC dreading the thought of having the Big 12 as their only life line out. The B1G seems content to stay at the next level adding USCLA. School presidents looking to the East Coast seems like a real possibility to start talks while the PAC implodes

At this point, it could just be Stanford/Cal.

ESPN would have to pay more for any pac teams joining the ACC than joining the big12 so i don't think it will happen.

And what would the PAC be doing exactly?

"Hey ESPN, we know it will only cost you $20M per PAC team to add to the Big 12 but we have an incredible idea for you to pay us twice that amount per team but we will be in the ACC instead. I'm sure FSU and Clemson would really enjoy funding regular trips out to Pullman, Washington for everyone from football to water polo! I hear the hunting is great up there!"

Puh-leaseeee, there has never been any traction for an ACC-PAC merger because it doesn't benefit ESPN AT ALL and the power brokers in the ACC have literally ZERO interest in playing teams out West unless they were getting a HUGE pay increase. Instead, they are all trying desperately to find a way to weasel out of a GOR for a minimum cost, not expand and potentially extend their current crap contract.

He's a scheduled guest for 365 Sports today.

Jim Williams has been on the Apple/Pac Media deal rumor mil for awhile. Colorado leaving really ends that discussion.

So I guess he is pivoting to the PAC/ACC merge storyline but its another dead-end.

RE: Pac12 officials have reached out to ACC
What would be the value to the ACC in taking the PAC's call? Let's be honest, if they want, the ACC can sit back, watch the PAC implode, if they want a couple of schools they can go after the top two remaining, Oregon and Washington. The PAC has no leverage. If this is true it feels like a Hail Mary and a sign that at least some of the remaining PAC schools have no interest in adding G5 schools to the league.
