RE: ACC on CW info
I’m so cheap I don’t pay for cable or any subscriptions, the digital antenna works good enough for me. The CW is one of the channels that comes in near flawlesslly, so not much buffering. This is welcome news.

I am also wondering if they will have ACC Football Blitz - pre-game in-studio show & ACC Basketball Tip-off Show. Surely they will.

Best outcome for the ACC, all things considered. What will ACC do with the last 4 to 5 football game broadcast.

I agree CW is solid. Gives our 3rd tier content an OTA option.

Not following what you mean about "last 4 to 5 football game broadcast"?

CW deal was only for 12 games a year. Raycom had 16-17 games a year. That leaves 4 to 5 games that need a broadcast partner.

Actually it is for 13 FB games a year on CW... Please note that all ACC controlled games are on ABC/ESPN/SCCN or ACCNX with the exception of the 50 games on CW (13 FB and 28 MBB, 9 WBB)

Tier 1 ABC/ESPN/ESPN2
Tier 2- ACCN
Tier 3 - CW (any game not picked up by CW will be on ACCNX/ESPN+)

RE: ACC on CW info
FWIW:

If you have access to ACCN with your cable/streaming TV provider, you will have access to ACCNX. You access ACCNX through the "Watch" area of ESPN. (ESPN meaning the ESPN app or ESPN dot com).ACCNX is the streaming-only location for games (of any sport) where an ACC team is the home team. Assuming there's video coverage to being with, a baseball game with an ACC home team will be either over the air (ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU,ACCN) or streaming only ACCNX.

ESPN+ is a separate streaming only service that applies to professional leagues/college conferences that contract with ESPN to put stuff on that platform (e.g. NHL, European soccer leagues, Big12, Atlantic10, FCS FB games). A ACC baseball team may appear on ESPN+ a couple of times this year for the games at VCU and ODU. The reason UVA/North Texas basketball appeared on ESPN+ is because Conference USA contracts w/ ESPN to put stream-only stuff on ESPN+.

Some games can't be worth a broadcast.

RE: ACC on CW info
I’m excited for this. Since so many of the former Big East programs get relegated to these games by The ACC, I’m glad they’ll be broadcast nationally.

Being broadcast nationally on the CW will mean more exposure than being stuck on The ACC Network.

I’m wondering if the games are already selected or if they will be selected two to three weeks out as other games selected by the broadcast entities.

Pecking order Jim....after the 3rd week most games are on 12 day windows. On average only one ACC game per week will be on CW.

Gotcha…
I was wondering since in the video Mr. Miller mentioned doubleheaders.
He may have been referring to basketball.

Fun fact: the RSN games usually outdrew ESPNU and ESPN2 games.

CW might get pretty good numbers
