EKU “ settled” with OVC yesterday for $750,000. I hate it came to this. Question . The OVC stayed in hot pursuit of EKU. Did Jax State pay up or did they get by on their state’s technicality and avoid the payment? Unfortunate situation. I don’t know the circumstances, but Murray State and Belmont left so did they meet the two year notice “requirement”, or did they get by on a technicality also? Seems they announced and were gone quickly?

Yeah, I saw that in the news yesterday. For those that constantly muse about EKU and other ASUN schools going to the OVC, I’d think the answer is a hard no.

I want to say Jax St paid nothing at this point as the court case got thrown out. Not sure if the OVC appealed or took their complaint to the State Board of Adjustments.

And that stinks. JAX coasts on this and we get stuck with a payment, not to mention all the negativity it cost us. It seems the OVC was hellbent on pursuing EKU, no matter what JAX was able to get by with. Sorry, JMO that stinks! I guess lucky for them, an Alabama judge sided with JSU, but a KY judge, nope (Now had it been UK, probably a different thing altogether.....the rich get richer). The good news.......

Austin Peay and EKU don't have any FBS options either other than the C-USA, but they won't get in because their in-state brethren would block them from joining. I doubt the Sun Belt would take them either.

It's been indicated on this forum, and the main forum multiple times that Austin Peay and EKU want to move up to the FBS level.
