It all started with George Bush and their “Truthiness “ standard. There was all this confusion about the Saudi’s v. Iraq, weapons of mass destruction, attacking Afghanistan, etc. a lot was said and done that didn’t add up. They had a “truthiness” standard. Their political statements were not required to be true, but the had to SOUND true.
That sort of of thing evolved into a very weird pseudo psychological version of manifestation theory. Now they just say the thing they want to be the truth with no regard to whatever remains of their reality indicates is the ACTUAL truth, which is seen as just a bother to be dismissed. So the approach is you just continue believing, saying, doing as though the thing is true.
Then, in some voodoo twist in the space time continuum, the thing will actually manifest itself and BECOME TRUE. Pretty slick.

Correct, but there has been a huge uptick in this kind of discourse from the far right crowd since about 2016, for reasons that should be obvious. People that would have been considered extremists and on a watchlist about 10 years ago are now saying the quiet part out loud.

Dear Brownandgoldlaker,
First of all, Mr. Shapley states he was upset at being passed over for promotion. Anyone can then be considered to have an axe to grind when admitting that.
Next, as part of the delays Mr. Shapely was complaining about, one was stated that because of a national election that was eminent, a 60 to 90 day delay was to be expected. It seemed to me that he (Shapely) was more interested in defeating Biden as president, by insisting things move forward.
Lastly, we are talking about tax evasion from basically 2014 and 2015. I believe everyone should pay their taxes. Didn't Hunter agree to tax evasion recently, based on the 2014 and 2015 returns?
I find it hard to see that Mr. Shapely is a whistle blower when this is the end result.

I think you two are either naive or your partisan blinders just prevent you from seeing how "ALL" the previous administrations try to control the narrative by manipulating the media (pretty sure your not naive).

Sometimes administrations will release "new" newsworthy items in order to distract the public from a current "negative" storyline and sometimes it will withholding news in order not to add fuel to the fire. This current administration is no different.

You're right, politics and propaganda have been around as long as humans have walked the Earth. It's to be expected from any government, to varying degrees.

I take exception when a president loses an election and claims the election was "rigged" or "stolen" or whatever. We've always had peaceful transfers of power here and a high degree of election integrity. One man is trying to change that and put us in the same category as third world shitholes. It's a very dangerous path to go down.
