He's actually lost a lot of weight since he was in the WH. Christie on the other hand...

It's not like Trump is svelte.
I can't wait until Christie drops out of the race and endorses Trump to be President again. They have no shame.

Besides losing some weight, he's also a twice impeached insurrectionist who has now been indicted for a 2nd crime. First, in NYC for campaign finance laws and now federally for classified documents. You think he hits the trifecta in Georgia for asking a SoS to change vote totals?

Fair enough but "body shaming" somebody because he's running against you is just another example of Trump's complete lack of character.

Like when his original public defense against E. Jean Carroll's rape charge was "she wasn't my type."

Oh, so if she was you WOULD have sexually assaulted her?!

Don't recall any of his opponents in 2016 or 2020 calling HIM out for looking like the Pillsbury Doughboy in a crotch-length red-tie, spray-on orange tan, bad hair, and a MAGA slouch cap.

Much worse than telling somebody they aren't Black if they don't choose him at the ballot box.03-lmfao

Pence has already said Trump should not be elected again but if Trump is the GOP nominee he would support him.

Huh?

Unfortunately, they have to walk a political tightrope. Many in the GOP establishment don't like Trump, they don't agree with his policies, they don't like the illegal things he's done, they don't agree with his general conduct and leadership of this country. But they HAVE to support him. He is the GOP frontrunner, and commands a large and dedicated base of far right voters. The GOP needs those votes to have any hope of victory. They cannot afford to chastise Trump too much. Only fringe candidates like Christie and Hutchinson, or retirees like Romney, Barr, Comey, etc...can speak freely.

What a shameful display, the chokehold that Trump has on the Republican party. Just about every person that has ever worked with him, or spent any considerable amount of time around him, has later spoken out about how awful he is. They all hate him. I can't believe all these cultists that adore him. What has to happen to a person in their life to have this doglike obedience to ANY human, especially one that is so objectively abhorrent? He wouldn't give them the time of day if he met them on the street, yet they sing his praises and open their wallets. Pathetic.

^ The Republican Party is broken, perhaps irretrievably.

Worse than that though is Trump may be the individual who destroys Democracy and government as we have known it - all for his own ego and gain.

And all the MAGA-Minions will cheer it as some sort of saving of our freedoms and as proof he's fighting for "us".

It'll take a generation, at minimum, before the GOP has any chance at recalibrating itself.

There are a lot of theories as to what brought this hard-right populist and anti-establishment tenor to the party.

Some actually say it's been a slow burn since the 1960s Civil Rights Acts, which chapped more than a few traditionalist folks. Reagan revived a lot of the grassroot conservative chest-thumping, and the religious right got pulled into the act during the 2000s. Then the Tea Party. And now MAGA.

So, Trump obviously isn't the cause of all this. He's the result of decades-long private grumbling as demographics diversified and different lifestyles became more tolerated. But they just couldn't get jazzed up about established DC guys like McCain and Romney.

Trump was at the right place at the right time. Credit to him I guess, he knew what to do and say to unlock the angst, and with the help of AM talk radio and Fox News, moderate guys like John Kasich who might've been a legit POTUS candidate at one time were quickly thrown out in the trash. It was either jump on Trump Train (Cruz, Rubio, etc.) or your career was over.
