I believe Coach Pike was calling the offense the last quarter of last season rather than CC calling the plays. It was a good decision.

Many programs assign the special teams coordinator title to gain an on-field coach (and pay bump) when it’s a staff analyst who actually runs the ST. I don’t know if that’s the case here, but wouldn’t be surprised.

100% agree. Bloat? At timeout huddles during the MBB games, I often saw more coaches than players. Do we really need 20 guys on the football coaching staff? I think the NCAA could skinny that number down.

Yeah I don't feel like it was ego. Seemed more of a comfort thing since that what he was use to doing as HC at Drake, but he discovered it's next to impossible to be a HC and OC at the FBS level.

I think Piatkowski is one of the youngest OCs in Div 1. Hes 32 or 33?

CC overall game management improved when he stopped doing both roles.

EVERY D1 coach has an ego. And it takes courage to cease doing something you’ve done your entire career.
