Sorry buddy, but we aren’t making this thread about ucf. Bye Bye.
Maybe you should tell that to your admin. Can't even have a press conference after their big vote and has to talk about UCF
Whatever, facts are we are building an OCS stadium, 340 million dollars invested in it, that many of the haters kept saying we couldn’t do.
For comparison, UCF spent about 50 or 55M on theirs. Would be 80-90M in today's dollars. USF's stadium will be light years better than UCF's.
You can’t buy time and that stadium plus 20 years of program building got us to a pretty decent spot.
Good luck.

Spending 340M vs 55M is not something to brag about.

Obviously there will be a difference between the two stadiums.
But as I said, funny all these ucf fans that for years kept pointing at our “ rented” stadium, and then when it was announced we were going to build one, doubted it was going to happen. Then when it was announced it was going to be 250+ million, kept saying we couldn’t afford it and more likely would settle for something like they built. So now after all that is the, is too late bit
Here are the facts.
USF will build a 300+ million stadium, regardless whether we get moved up or not, it will benefit our school and program.
Now I hope that ucf fans have better things to worry and care about than our OCS, but as has been proven in past with anything USF related, pretty sure you guys will keep posting on it, even after you are officially out of AAC.
You just can’t quit us.

I've already said congrats but I'll double down.
I support USF's investment into its football program with this OCS stadium. USF skipped the step where they have growing pains. They went from startup in 1997 to Big East in 2005, that's only 8 years to build the foundation for a major college football team.
USF Football was in a trailer when it accepted its Big East invite.
USF should be applauded for making this investment. I think the Academics side should fall on the sword for the Athletic side. I don't think anyone expects USF Athletics to pay off this loan alone. USF Academic side is full of money. More success than ever now because they crossed the finish line with AAU status.
Just like Miami Hurricanes taking money from UHealth to hire Mario Cristobal. That's a homerun hire. Miami's Academic side is full of money. Its an advantage! Use it!
Academics and Athletics are a symbiotic relationship.

RE: USF OCS Financials Update
I love all the hate and resentment shown towards USF. That will make our future success that much more enjoyable. As for the local rag, USF is the largest local employer ousite the state. You'd think they'd realize that and applaud USF success. Yet they shat on USF ever chance they get. Then they wonder why their circulation is dwindling.

Sure would make for an awkward "no" vote.

They will not. The intrigue with coming to Tampa was not because it was simply a game in Florida, it was because it was a game in Florida in an NFL stadium. If USF continues to agree to 2-1 games with the home being in Ray Jay, I am sure they can continue fielding them. However, using UCF as an example from their AAC days with an OCS, it will be hard attracting 1-1 games with P5 teams higher than the Louisville's, UNC's, NC States of the world. The 2-1 games with the high profile teams like Alabama, Ohio State, Florida will require the NFL stadium. If USF refuses to schedule the 2-1 in Ray Jay, no deal will be made. This is what happened to UCF many times and their schedule ran dry.

Believe UCF got a 2-1 with Florida while in AAC so maybe USF can too and possibly Miami and FSU. Other than that you’re probably right, no more Alabamas or Notre Dames. We’ll probably be looking at NC state and Syracuse type teams.
I do expect USF to be in a P5 within 5 years if they do even a medium amount of winning with the new stadium and AAU status.

That's great on paper, but it's fan thinking. Hard experience at UAB tells me that much of the academic side will see every dollar spent on that stadium as money that rightfully should have gone to academics, preferably their research.

Honestly, that's a bunch of BS! The money is from entirely different sources. All academics think other peoples money should go to their causes. That's why those who can Do and those who can't teach.
