BTW, if you watch the video segment between her statement and her refusal to retract, there was a motion to remove her statement from the records. Someone opposed the motion on some procedural grounds. The opposition motion was put to a voice vote where the chairman called it for the Ayes.

A dem called for a recorded vote, so they had to go 1 by 1 to get an aye or nay. The ayes prevailed.

That means her comments will NOT be removed from the record. It was after that when she was asked if she wanted to retract.

She could be my next ex-wife.

My honest guess is that Christine Fang got everything she wanted from Eric Swalwell, and that he got nothing from her.

Edit: there was once a great Law&Order episode with a similar plot. The hottie girlfriend got an expensive house, an expensive car and a big allowance. The dweeb husband kept thinking his generosity would pay off, but in the end he got… nothing.

MTG also called Mayorkas a liar for saying the border was under control. Dems had a fit and struck her remarks because calling somebody a liar is a big "no, no." Lying itself is tolerated apparently.
