A small amount of concern
From the day Coach W was hired, I only had one small concern, which I posted at that time, and that was I hoped he didn't try to make Tulsa into a Big Ten team!! The Big Ten spends most of it's time pushing and banging inside and some on the outside too--not much time scoring!! A game in the 50's, even 40's, is quite normal in the Big Ten and not very pretty or fun to watch!!!!! My concern was, not so much the style of play, but that Tulsa wouldn't be able to get the athletic tough guys needed to play that style after the top teams and conferences had their choice of those players. Tulsa had made a living from outstanding outside shooting and a faster pace. We got the great shooting 5'10" guard the big guys didn't want. The 6'7" post player that was too small for the big guys, but who was very athletic and could run the floor. We may be able to get enough decent players to play Big 10 ball and be in the upper tier of CUSA but I don't think we can play that way and win against the top teams from the big conferences!!! Please don't misunderstand what I'm saying, I think Coach W has done a good job and I think the future is brighter than it's been for awhile!!

I look at the scores in the tournament so far. They are pretty low. Could it be that the days of Billy ball and Tricky ball are over?
