Looks like it was a false alarm.

One in Louisville. Not a false alarm. At least 4 dead, plus the shooter, and 9 injured. Ho hum. Thoughts and prayers.

Accomplished that with trained armed guards at the bank.

Yet, they think arming teachers will make schools impenetrable.

They say he wore a helmet in basketball due to so many concussions, maybe he had CTE. He was also a far left liberal so the story wont get as much media attention similar to the Nashville shooting.

It doesn't really matter if they're liberal or if they're conservative, does it? I don't think anybody on here is saying that mass shootings are bad because a conservative was the shooter.

How about we at least research the issue instead of shutting down any attempt at learning the best ways to cut down on all the killings? Other countries don't have this problem. Who's standing in the way of that? It isn't liberals.

They wouldn't even agree to armed guards at schools because that would [gasp] cost money. Thus arm the teachers (without giving them more money) and hope they can get by on the cheap. That's what they call "pro-life".

He also said he was going to shoot up the bank to friends while suicidal, but Kentucky has no legal way to take preventative action when someone mentally unstable makes a direct threat.

And his political leanings are irrelevant.

The Nashville shooting was among the more heavily media covered ones of the year, which tends to happen when the victims are so young.

You could say the attention is continuing if you consider news surrounding the two black Tennessee lawmakers expelled (not the white one, of course) as being related to that shooting.

Although I guess to be fair, coverage only lasts until the next one, which is usually a few days later.

I see anger on social media after every one of these shootings, regardless of the shooter's gender, race or sexual orientation. It's always about the guns, uniquely American gun culture, and easy access to them, and the right-wingers who support the easiest access possible.

Is that all you have to say? 4 people are dead, 9 others have potentially life-altering injuries and your first thought is about the shooter's alleged left-leaning political opinions? Despite this not appearing to be politically-motivated violence?

I'm not sure what news outlets you are paying attention to, but both this and the Nashville shooting were front page news for every major outlet, even for international organizations such as the BBC. Your conspiracies hold no water.

This attacker had no prior contact with police, was a gainfully-employed, productive member of society. He apparently learned of his employer's intent to terminate his employment. So he obtained a rifle and murdered them all. This shouldn't be the norm in a developed, civilized nation, but here we are. And it will be forgotten about in a few days when the next shocking murder spree happens. The worst part is, a lot of people in this nation don't even see this as a problem. There are some real, deep-rooted issues in our society.

I agree. Our society is sick. People go on killing sprees for something as silly as losing a job. I wonder how many of the mass killers are on psychiatric medication. Doctors hand them out like candy these days and some have side effects like suicidal/homicidal thoughts. Anyone on this medicine should not be able to legally possess guns.

Maybe, but Republicans wouldn't even vote for that.

On the Nashville shooting, 3 liberal Tennessee representatives led a protest that got the 2 black liberal Tennessee representatives expelled from office by the conservative led government.

That story is still in the news today. Protests are happening daily over Tennessee gun policy & the 2 black liberal representatives being expelled.

Can you please explain to me how that qualifies as getting less media attention? Or is that just something you repeat back like a trained parrot every time the shooter is liberal?

When I saw this, I half-expected to see him involved in online fringe groups, or had left a trail of highly polarized political statements and maybe advocated violence.

But only thing I've read is he had he/him in his bio and made some critical posts about Donald Trump.

Is that what qualifies as "far left" these days?

Only to the MAGA crowd. Though those morons also call themselves conservative and they clearly have no idea what that means because they aren't anything resembling conservative.

They're conservative when the lack of funds only affects other people.

RE: Another active shooter on a college campus
Sad as much as it is anger-inducing.

No red flags. No criminal history. Not 'fringe'. College educated. On the surface, looks like he came from a good family, not a broken or abusive home.

He wrote stuff about the difficulty of 'fitting in' at school and some self-esteem issues, but that's hardly uncommon for a kid coming to age.

But there was a darkness deep within him no one detected, maybe even he didn't realize it until something snapped in his head. Now 5 people are dead (including him) over something as relatively innocuous as losing his job. And he live-streamed it, adding to the sickness of it all.

And of course, he had an AR-15 at his disposal, America's #1 mass shooting weapon of choice.

The coverage has focused on the Tennessee House of Representatives, not the victims and their families. Still waiting on the shooter's manifesto. Lack of armed security
was a major factor in the choice of target. Broward County Schools(includes Parkland HS)has just recently approved paying Officers $103,000/yr for 3 yrs. Cost to the school system $20 million.

Likely won't ever hear the motive or the manifesto unless a FOIA request gets approved. Don't want to upset the LBGT crowd.

We don't listen to manifestos from mass murderers. It just brings attention to those scumbags and potentially motivates others to copy.

Does that make sense to you?
