I'm not sure what the answer is to stop all these shootings. I can see arguments from both sides of the gun debate. More thorough background checks and mental health evaluations seem like a good common ground to start. You shouldn't be able to go into a gun store and buy any gun you want.

Let's start with outlawing assault weapons whose only purpose is to "assault" - kill-maim as many people as possible as quickly as possible.

Especially those who who are unarmed, defenseless, and innocent like school children and personnel.

Jesus. Shooter also texted a friend saying something along the lines of committing suicide and that they'd be on the news later. Said friend called the police and it seems like the 911 operator and/or police didn't act with enough urgency. That needs to be looked into and positions replaced. This coulda been completely avoided.

Major, I'm placing you on mute. Go enjoy retirement on a beach or a golf course before you lose even more of your cognitive ability. I heard pickle ball is fun too but it sounds like the kids are getting into it. It may be too fast of a game for you. Bocce ball is more your speed.

Clearly there is no way to prevent a person from legally buying 7 guns at 5 different stores before going on a killing spree. I mean guns aren't nearly as dangerous as buying cold medicine at Meijer and then again at Walmart.

Here we go again. Let them sell essentially a continuum of guns to anybody that wants one, and then use that as an excuse to do nothing.

One thing we can immediately do is ALL news channels need to stop giving these sick people the time of day. I see endless news stories and videos about them over and over again. These sick people are getting the attention and fame they were most likely looking for.
