The problem for Memphis is that Williams pled not guilty which is good if in fact he didn't do the crime. But now Penny is stuck. He can't pull the scholly without looking bad but if he waits and Williams is guilty of anything then it'll be too late to replace him with anything close to as talented a player.

Based on Penny's luck I'd say whatever the worst case scenario is - that's what will happen.

Relatively unknown freshman with really good measurables. Not expecting much from him year one but if he stays, could be an interesting prospect.

I think that spot will end up going to Hayes. I do think it’s possible Hayes arrival convinces another player to hit the portal.

Penny is recruiting guards as if Williams isn't returning. Again, he can pop Ashton and/or Jayden into a walk-on spot if necessary. Probably same for JJ Taylor, but we have plenty of wings.

I think we could have the most talented roster we've had in quite some time next year. It's not a big starting lineup, but we weren't big last year, either. I think we'll struggle against some of the really tall AAC teams as usual, but I bet we win a few of those.

G - Cam Hayes
G - RJ Felton
F - Ezra Ausar
F - Brandon Johnson

The 3 guards are all threats to take you off the dribble and either finish at the rim or kick out. Ausar is a stud. Johnson is only starting to see how good he can be, IMO.

That lineup is exciting to me.
