AAC To Look Out West ala Big 12
Rumor has it the AAC will pursue some MWC schools, and targeted others, to expand their footprint and become a 24-school coast-to-coast conference. Schools mentioned include Hawaii, SDSU, SJSU, BSU, UNLV, CSU, AFA and UTEP. WSU and OSU would be included if the PAC 12 explodes, as expected. Other schools could include two from Liberty, Army, FAU, and possibly GCU. This alignment will continue AAC's history of primarily focusing on major metro areas. Obviously, OSU and WSU bring their P% history to the conference. The thought process of GCU is another major metro area and a program that has made a strong commitment to athletics with the facilities they have built. But they will face resistance from some institutions. Scheduling will focus on regional quads to reduce travel expenses.

I could see AAC pursuing SDSU, SJSU, OSU, WSU, CSU, and AFA. Possibly BSU and UNLV. This locks up the West Coast and Rocky Mountain region and would be more manageable. Either way, when the dust has cleared the Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, and AAC will be the major conferences, and the rest will have to evaluate their programs and future.

There's no way. After the PAC takes what it wants, Air Force and Boise State will be the only two valuable programs left.
