It’s really hard to screw La tech one last time with these games running at the same time.

Hoping for Rice as the 6, but wouldn’t be shocked to see UTSA advance to the quarterfinals.

If somehow La. Tech beats FAU tonight, they would be #6. If not, FIU will be the6th seed. And they will have to play #11 UTSA, to determine who we will play on Thursday night at 8:30.

If FAU wins:

6 - Rice (8-12)
7 - FIU (8-12)
8 - WKU (8-12)
9 - UTEP (7-13)
10 - LT (7-13)

Three team tiebreaker (FIU, Rice, WKU)

Of the four teams on our side that play Wednesday, UTSA definitely scares me the most. Really glad we're on the opposite side of the bracket of UTEP, Charlotte, WKU, and MTSU. About as good a draw as we could hope for I think. Now we need to care of business.

Im hoping Rice wins Wed because we match up favorably against them, but I fully expect UTSA to win. There is no reason to be "scared" of an 11 seed, but UTSA has been playing well and really pushed us in our last game against them. It would be great if UAB just came out and took care of business the way they should on Thurs, regardless of who we play. I honestly feel like the game against UNT, assuming we both advance, is what will decide it for us. If we can beat UNT, I have an unearned abundance of confidence that we will beat FAU (or anyone else) in the championship.

I agree. I feel like if we make the finals we are winning it all. We are more talented than UNT. The first game against them is a throwaway in my book. The 2nd one we shot our selves in the foot into a close loss in 2nd OT. We are better than them. They just play very well as a team and play a super gimmicky style that gives us fits. I like our chances to take them down at full strength and being fully locked in.

There’s only one team who could still beat us if we play at our best, and that is FAU. But we should be 2-0 against them, with another close loss on the road where we short ourselves in the foot to an L. I think we beat them if we meet in the finals.

If we play sloppy, dumb, jelly show only offense , we could and probably will lose our first game.

It’s up to the team to see who shows up bc I firmly believe no one is better than us in this conference when we play well, and we have beaten ourselves by playing low IQ, sloppy basketball far too often.

UNT has beaten UAB 3 times in a row.

until we beat them in semifinals, they are our kryptonite and should be feared.
They play good defense so we will struggle to beat them.
