Ok...back from a hiatus with some thoughts about things going on at the UA.
Basketball - What can you say? We have no size, no speed, no shooters, basically we have no talent. Heath's done an incredible job to get this team to be 6-10 as is. Wait til next year, and 2 years later, when Olu, Ronnie and company are tearing it up.
Recruiting - Nutt's doing the right thing... getting a lot of OL and DL. He's learned from Georgia that depth and size in the lines is what will win you conferences. 7 DL will definitely help right away... not to mention 4 new OL + redshirt Tony Ugoh. Baker's 4.29 speed will be our new long threat at WR.
Baseball - They got put through the off-season of their lives. Expect a great year out of them...they're young but have great speed, and with Pagnozzi helping them with batting, and the mind of Van Horn in the dugout, there is no limit to how far this team can go.
Women's hoops - When they're on...no one can beat em. When they're off, anyone can beat em. They need to find consistency...and fast. Tennesee comes this Thursday.
Women's gymnastics - WOW! They're incredible to watch. This is not because they're pretty (they are though), but they are super talented, they'll impress you almost instantly, and the team spirit and energy that they possess will just really knock you over. Really, they're a must-see.
More to come in the following days.

Thanks much.
Got more stuff to go to... getting my season baseball tickets, more men's hoop games, and the gymnastics meet against Georgia....never thought I'd be spending much $$$ on women's sports.... oh well..this is worth the ticket.
Time to see if we'll land Xavier-Lawson Kennedy too.

Nice to see you back, cth! The board was definitely getting slow and needed a kick start!
I am really starting to wonder if next season might be Houston's next to last. If he can win next year and get to a New Years Day game, the job will be his for a long time. If he does what I think he will do, which is crying to the Shreveport people to let him in when bowl season comes around, he might be feeling a lot more heat under that chair.
I plan on attending a number of baseball games this season and am really fired up about it. I expect another Super Regional performance with a shot at Omaha. Van Horn is a heck of a coach and the stadium was just ranked #2 in all of college baseball by Baseball America. That is a huge factor, anyone who thinks it isnt doesnt pay much attention. Facilities are always important in the success of the top teams.
As for girls basketball, that loss to Auburn is really puzzling. They looked like national champs against LSwho, but then look like they should be playing at the Fayetteville high school gym just a couple of days later.
Hopefully I will get a chance to check out the gymnastics. Everyone I have talked to is real excited about it and really enjoyed the competitions.

The girls are just inconsistent on hoops...amazed they only fell to #12.
I got the season pack already for Van Horn's baseball squad. He's ready to roll and the team seriously thinks a trip to Omaha can happen (besides the one they'll make to play Creighton).
I like Wittke as the new OC, and would like to see 49ers coach George Stewart FINALLY accept the DL coaching position. We need stability within our asst. coaches.
And yeah bigolhawg, since you're about to get to the UA..some ticket tips.
1) You will get your student football passes at orientation...no worries. Just have $7 with you.
2) Get your name on the season hoops waiting list already....so then when you graduate...you should be able to pick up season hoops tickets the next year.
3) Donate early to the Razorback Foundation....$$$ counts for parking spaces, ticket priorities, etc. Start with $10-$20 now as a student...when you have a family, you'll have prime seats and parking.
4) Get tickets now for baseball and gymnastics...they will both become sellouts very quickly.

Thanks for the tips, I am really looking forward to getting up there and beginning four years of madness. Razorback sports look to be at their peak by my senior year and being part of the Razorback family is something that I have always looked forward to.
Baseball when its still below freezing is a bit weird, but I love baseball and am excited about Dave Van Horn. Everyone loves Norm, but he left on a very high note and left a great program for another fine coach.
And it looks like the Lady Back game with Tennesee will be a sellout. What a tribute to how great Razorback fans are.
