WBB Game 27: @Hofstra
Our ladies stay on the road for Hofstra. They are bad, we should win this one without too much trouble. Last matchup stayed closer than it should have as Hofstra sold out to stop Kei (many triple teams, if I recall correctly), and it only somewhat worked. Was more frustrating than anything. Kei had a good first quarter then struggled. So we had a 9 point lead and won by 12 so never really pull further away. Kei still scored 24 on 18 shots. I expect similar but a larger margin of win.

We have a 0.5 game lead over both A&T and SBU. We have the tiebreaker over SBU. W&M, NU and Towson are still lurking around 1.5 games back. Our final 2 games are everything (as we have known for weeks now), but both are home. So win this one and put some pressure on A&T and W&M ahead of our matchups. If there was ever a game we push hard for a big crowd, Sunday is it

So it was another good road win for Drexel to keep themselves barely alone in first place.

The standings are pretty crazy right now. While Drexel is in first, they're not too far out of finishing as low as 6th, if they lose their final two games at home to two top opponents. Drexel has the tiebreaker over Stony Brook, but that's it. I'll say it again, I do fear this season ending like the very similar 2010 season, which ended on a 6 game losing streak despite Drexel being picked to finish 1st. Both teams were lead by superstars involved with most of the scoring. One day at a time...tomorrow's game is critical, to at least make it unlikely that they'll lose the bye. Win both and first place is theirs.

No doubt. We played bad and only had Kei. Thankfully Hofstra is just that bad.
